    hmm..very strange..it reads temps as 38C...speedfan 4.27 says 31-33 C...offset is -8C

so if I were to add 8C what do I add it too....speedfan's 31-33+ 8=39/41 and does not equal 38C reported by the program..very odd

Got my new 0550 UPMW opteron 165 running 2700 Mhz @ 1.32v, got my ram running (9:10, so 270 Mhz @ 2.53v). Seems to be very stable, running a long pass (90min) through S&M. I'll post a SS if it passes.

Can you post a screen shot of dual prime (small) for 3-4 hours? (CPU-Z Showing too!)

    170 0550upmw

Got this 170 from ZZFly last Wensday and did a quick test with it on my old vapo pe. It will clock a lot higher but the old vapo is just not up to doing dual prime. I then put it in another rig and settled in on 24/7 on my Koolance2 at 2785@default-default with power now on.

for the Central Brain ID... what version are you guys running? I tried the latest 7.70, but it gives an error half the time when loading and does not show all the data. I tried 7.60 as well, but I don't see any temp offset on either of them. When 7.60 loads it shows the same CPU temp the same as MBM5. The few times that 7.70 did load properly it was the same as MBM5 well.

    Where is this offset shown?

if MB is taking a real cpu temp who cares what the offset is ???

I am so confused on this

I tried the orange slots and seems with 623-2 bios I was worse off with dual prime 95....

I wonder if the 704 bios would do better with orange slots

heck..just not worth the hassles for 50-100mhz....

BTW are there certain dividers you guys find that are more problematic than others..supposedly at DFI they stated some opterons do not like 9/10 and 5/6 divider...did not say if this was dual or sinlge core

Also I would guess the "odd" dividers would also be an issue..ie 3/4, 7/10 etc

I would figure the normal dividers would be ok???

why does everyone say the voltage off cpu-z..knowing that it does not match there bios setting and given the overvolting of this mobo it is very misleading

the vcore above is not 1.408..it is higher as cpu-z always reports a lower value

on my setup ..1.45*1.04= 1.508 but cpuz reports 1.456, the same value when I give 1.325*113%=1.497, cpu-z again reports 1.456....

with that said..TIMKO that is awesome overclock!!!!

i think everyone pretty much understands they read under. cpu-z is just easier than remembering your bios settings. i change setting so often, sometimes I can't remember what i set the vcore to

I checked the actual values on my Ultra-D. Smartguardian read .05v lower idle and .07v lower under load... not sure how much that varies mobo to mobo.

    ugh..that is quite alot

OK cdelong..I guess that is a darn good reason..I just would hate for a newbie to miss that fact..I know it took me awhile to learn this and avoid any higher vcore on my good but nowhere near stellar 170

I've noticed that in most cases for DFI NF4 mobos that the voltage you get in any windows app will be approx 0.02v lower than what you *see* in the BIOS. This is the only A64 mobo I've had since almost a year ago so I don't know what voltage readings are like with other manufacturers.

Here's a table for reference showing all the vid and % value combos and their resultant "theoretical" value. The BIOS reading will be 0.01v lower than those shown and of course the Windows reading will be 0.02v lower again so basically you're looking at 0.03v in total lower once you get to Windows

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...94&postcount=8

As an example, the voltage I used for my current 2.8Ghz is 1.275 x 113% = 1.441v. Bios shows 1.43v and Windows applications will show 1.41v (or in the case of CPU-z with its 3 decimal place reading 1.408v).

As for the overclock I've achieved, it's pretty much par for the course with this particular date and stepping of 0550 and UPMW, see this thread -> http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=86139 where mag¦c achieved the same speed at slightly less volts (1.392v)
