165 opty, 0551VPMW, any results? just got one

    its a CCBWE 0551VPMW chip.

right now, i'm at 2.4ghz prime for 30mins at stock vcore. i will update you guys to see how far i can push it.

i'm planning to find the max speed at default vcore first, then prime it for about 12 hours to burn it in, then up the vcore and try to find its max.

i'm hoping for 2.7 on air, but i'll settle with 2.6.

do any of you guys have this stepping?

yeh, i noticed that also, my opty 146 was running 200mhz faster, but in windows it seems snappier than my opty 170 @ 2.6g

after a few nights of testing, i've only reached 2.6ghz prime stable with 1.45v (most memory timings are at default). anything higher and core0 will crap out. after about 23hrs of burn in, it didn't help it at all. so it looks like i have to settle with 2.6ghz

yep, i have both patches installed i was just wondering if the many memory tweaks with this mobo will help get my core0 stable at anything higher than 2.6ghz?

    Opty CCBWE 0551 VPMW
    Note:
    1. don't trust the temp!, thats is after stopping the dual prime, the real temp about 43-46 full load on both core
    2. On stock cooling@5000 RPM
    3. I live on tropical island so the damn temperature about 30-33C

Question...is my max temperature just 49c?, thats what the Tcase said..

What is the 2nd patch you are talking about?
I know only one, KB896256 patch. Plus that Throttle registry entry and amd cpu driver. Is there something else?

as long as your board does high HTT well, you should be OK. you can use a divider on the memory.

every cpu is different. just hope you get a winner I'd consider a "winner" 2.65ghz+. Not the best, but you could get a 2.4ghz "dud".

I agree. My last 170 0546SPMW can only reach 2.45Ghz @1.48v but my current 165 0550 UPMW reaches 2.7Ghz@1.4v. I get better performance /w less money

Running 2.7ghz at 1.475 so far on my 165 CCBWE 0551 VPMW. Very impressed with how this runs, makes my San Diego at 2.8 "feel" sluggish.

interesting, im down to 1.44v at 2600 prime still plugging away, 2700 should be easier but something must be hold me back elsewhere. 2700 was stable, but i flashed my X1900XT to XTX and now its not. Kinda wierd.
