Now I am having some issues. Last night I benched all 05/03/01 with 2.8Ghz/591/600Mhz on CPU/GPU and played my flight sim for a few. Today I cant even play my damn flight sim. Once it shut off and two other times it froze. What is the problem here? Room temperature is about 2ºC higher.... I need to input guys.

I had that issue a while back with Need For Speed Most Wanted. It was a combination of running my ram timings to tight and running my GPU to high.
For 24/7 use I have them set @ stock. I found that when it crashed to my desktop it was the GPU and when it restarted all together it was my RAM. Try looser timings or another divider for your RAM maybe even a higher voltage, or if you've got your GPU OC'd bring it back to stock. I spose depending on how far you've pushed your FSB it could be chipset volts too. Experimentation through trial and error is the key.

FSB is only at 215 so its not very high. I am suspecting is the PSU not having enough juice to power both CPU and GPU (X850XT PE eats those Watts). I dont think its the chipset either. OCZ PS 520W is on the way. We will see.

I had the same issue with WOW. Had to crank back the memory timing a hair... I was running 2-3-3-5 and was solid in super pi and 06/05/03/01 and wow would lock within an hour. Loosened timings some and walla... no more locks...

Hey guys I need some help here.
I have a p-m 750 perfectly prime stable at 2.63GHz 1.4V on a P4GPL-X, ct-479 with vcca mod, cooling is 7700AlCu. No matter how I increase the Vcore or change the trimmer for vcca, I can't get past fsb 188. As I set 189 or 190, the computer freezes. vdd is already 1.6V, I tried pci-e at 90, 95,100, auto etc still no chance. Max temp is 53C after some minutes in prime95. What can I do to get it past this barrier? Please help!

have you checked vcore change is working firstly? (confirmed with DMM or bios if you don't have one?)

secondly, have you tried loosening ram timings?

thirdly, upped ram voltage? (i take it you mean something else when you say VDD @ 1.6v)

fourthly, the temp sensor is wrong, minus about 7-10'C from the mobo's reading.

if nothing helps, then your chip has one of the famous walls that dothans decide to hit

for me it seems PCI lock does not work on this mobo, I have the same mobo and I have problems around the same frequency (FSB I mean). and PCI and PCI-E are NOT locked, auto, 100 or whatever. so you up your FSb, you up your PCi and pci-e and you get a frozen image
I have mine at 182FSB ATM becaue it gets me like 45MHz PCI and 120MHz pci-e - higher I ger reboots, eventhough chips and mem are OK for up to 238Mhz

Whoa, I seem to find a solution. Just lowered insanely the resistance of the trimmer and now I can prime at 2.7GHz, 1.55V. Temperature with 7700AlCu is pretty high, close to 60 in full load I ran also superpi at 2.8 but it gets hot like hell and it is unstable. Isn't vdd = vchipset? Also, what fsb termination voltage does? My memory runs upto 285 5-3-3-3 on 2.6V (TCCD) so the timings were pretty loose (8-4-4-3 for any instance). As I increase the fsb, it cracks out at 225 (!?!). Bad, bad, mobo.
lawrywild, I've followed the indications you did in your thread, flashed to 0205 but no difference, I could change vcore with latest bios, so no vcore problem. What I really find funny is that this chip does not even boot or load windows if I increase or decrease the voltage with 0.025V. Pretty tight 10x guys.

Later edit: I got this (see below) after flashing with p4gd1 bios (but I think it is not the case) and increasing vcore to 1.58V in BIOS. Definitely the 7700AlCu is not enough. Will the temperature be lower if I switch to Sonic Tower? Did someone test this on dothan ? Or what other cooling solution on air will be the best?

Try removing any shim or unproperly attached ihs from the cpu. It could be what's causing that high temps your getting with your zalman. Just be gentle with the chip though while remounting the cooler. Don't get all too agressive to it. If you get a good mount, you should get a good mid 40C's while running your chip at 2.8Ghz.

Did you set adapters jumper to 133Fsb? Temps close to 60°C [onDie Cpu diode reading!] is quite normal full load, since your Cpu so overvolted & OC-ed has real around 50W dissipation ... That cooler should be enough; a problem is elsewhere IMHO ...

Your mb could be reading temps too high....But try reseating your hs for better contact to the cpu. I used to get mid 50C's before I had a shim. Removed it and now I get 34C idle and 44C load. and that is at 2.8Ghz 1.56V but before it was maxing out at 55C load - 60C and idles at 38C. Even at 2.9Ghz with 1.68V my max load would not reach 50C max and this is with a hyper6 and 2 80mm tornado running on low. If you had any experiences with a prescott you will know damn sure what to expect from 60W chip and with same cooler. 2.8A@4.2Ghz 1.56V max load was 55C and that is over 130W+++ of power.
