    some test on a KAb2E 3700+

    Hi guys,
    I just had some cpu's to test....all KAb2e series.....

    in a 4 pcs batch I found.

    n.1 Spi 32M OK @ 300x10 vcore 1.5
    n.1 Spi 32M OK @ 290x10 Vcore 1.5
    n.2 SPi 32M OK @ 290x10 Vcore 1.55

all on DFI SLi-D, BIOS 704-2BTA, Air Cooled (seems a Zalman 7000 Cu+, but it's not a zalman..)

SO that's the 3 gig one in action..

I like this cpu.... my watercooled system cried at me to go over it..

    And that's it..

Not so bad IMHO.....of course there's always something better...but towards some months ago seems to me to had a good improvement also on SAndiego 3700 performance....will it be a Opty influence ??

    great work !
Did you pick the best CPU out of 4 ?
How good were the other chips , all the same stepping?

yes, this was the best of 4.

The other were tested only on air cooling with these results:

    290x10 Vcore 1.5
    290x10 Vcore 1.55
    290x10 Vcore 1.55

    al pi32 passed...

Thats funny, cause I got the exact same stepping, and mine is only stable @ 2750 1.55x104%. At 1.55x110% it wont boot! Maybe I should try the same bios as you..

    SP stability means nothing.
Show us a Prime 12h Small FFTs
    That's just craptastic...

as everything anyone has his opinion....what about 18 hrs ? or 24 ?? why 12 and not more ?....I think anyone has his method to test...and for sure Prime is one of the biggest and good test to stress and test. IMHO, for a fast and reliable test of stability spi32 is enough.....and , always in my experience, i know "exactly" (lol.....hard word for a various tinted world as OC world)....prime stability is about 50 mhz below.....

Or as revenant says,...just matter of increasing of something (0.05 or some more) the vcore....

For my use of PC i can tell that I never had a problem of stability testing this way...and rather for benching on graphics i just go to the CPU max oc tested @ spi 8mb......and this is enough for me.......repeat...FOR ME

my KAB2E 0532XPMW can do 3ghz on 1.5 but fails prime... it needs 1.55 vcore for 24hr prime stability... they are some nice chips, no doubt about it... but you should do some long prime runs on that one to ensure stability.

    Pretty good chip

Modern Ram, makes an old overclocker miss BH-5 and the fun it was
