    Thumbs up Opteron 146 & 402XTREME = P95 @3500MHz, SPi32M @3594MHz, 3D @35xxMHz!!! - UPDATED!

    Sup people!

Soooo... Here we go with another of bachus' OCing adventures Thanks to njkid32 I'm now a happy owner of some monsterous Opty 146 and with Chilly1's single stage (almost 1yr of heavy duty service so far...) they make quite duo! Check it out...!
    --------------------------

After I got this Opteron 146 (yeah, one and only CABNE 0530APMW!) it turned out that it runs quite warm. Much warmer that my other SD - 3700+. It did not stop it from doing almost 3.47GHz in 32M but I knew that taking an IHS off will guarantee some extra gains! So, next up was a razor blade...

Here it is, topless and in all its glory

    BIOS temperature @ 3580MHz 1.71v

    Action shot, before we begin...

What would you say If I showed you SuperPi 32M @ 3580MHz!? I had some problems with getting my TCCD to work with me for this run of 32M, so I switched to 2x1GB of Corsair TWINX2048-4400PRO, based on Infineon CE-5. I will re-run this bench later with TCCD as I want to catch up with coop's 20:39 on his godly Opteron 148
All benches were done on Windows Server 2003, with "multi-processor" tweak . It's was neccesary for running >350HTT. That's why temps that MBM is showing at all times (from -8C to -13C) are actually LOAD temps...

    ... and SuperPi 16M @ 3580MHz as well!? This is with G.Skill PC4400LE.

I've been doing those test for the period of few days... How about 2 hours of SP2004 SmallFFT @ 3500MHz!

In the mid-time, some Sandra CPU benches @ 3500MHz

For those that think SmallFFT is a piece of cake, here's 2 hours of SP2004 LargeFFT 1024-4096K (1850MB used) @ 3500MHz!

Another stop for a quick bench - Sandra Memory Bandwidth @ 3500MHz/DDR500 5-2-3-2.5-1T

While I still had this 7800GTX 512MB here from a friend of mine and waiting to be vmodded by me, I ran 3DMark2001 and 05 @ 3530MHz! Video card clocks are 620/1920, no vmods yet and stock cooling...

For about 30 minutes this was a major PIA to run at same CPU clocks than the rest of 3D benches so I decided to make a bigger drop in Mhz. Here we have 3DMark2003 @ 3460MHz!

There...! This is it for now, folks. Hope you enjoyed those results. I did

Next stop, DryIce... Maybe some time next month

NICE ! that should be about the highest 32M for 146 or maybe any Opteron

    Is 3530 max for 2001 ?

What unloaded idle temp does that cooler produce at those volts and no multi proc?

Well... if dry ice wont give problems on the colbug part, then this is a real killer chip

How "convenient" you've hand this card for the last 2 months waiting to be v-modded. I guess I must have bought the last pots in the Bay Area when I was doing my x850xtpe mods - so you must be waiting for that next shipment to arrive
To think, NjKid was about to send me this cpu to play with....oh well, if you wanna ever test it on something that'll give you better temps than DI, come on over and we'll toss her on the autocascade

Very nice Bachus Kicks the crap out of my runs on dry ice and with 32m

stephen> I'm not sure what dry ice unit he has but a properly made solid unit will kick your autocascade up, down, and across the street any day of the week

ummm...sure....you have no idea do you? let me ask you something...when you're on DI, what's the delta between idle and load temps?
Oh, and while you're thinking of something smart to say, just know that chilly1 says that this unit can be tuned for -120C temps with the capacity of a dual compressor cascade......

    WOW, impressive 146.
How much MHz did you gain when you took your IHS off?

SUPER, very nice work. When it comes to showing detail on benches, your the best. Nothing like a good CABNE 0503 when it comes to sc optys.

Gundamit has two 146's with that stepping and I know that one is very close to what you have. I've seen 32m on his at 3500 but don't know if he can prime.

As said, nothing like a good CABNE 0530.

Hehehe, fantastic results , man oh man, mine is going to get frozen soon, i really hope a xtreme overclocking freak gets mine. Have you been experiencing cold bug with your CPU? Peeps have been asking me questions abt mine, but I dont know?

I guess these chips aren't so much subjected to cold-bugs in comparison to other A64

Well ive got my own theory on the reason why, ive noticed tht the CABNE 0530APMW chips run hotter than other equivalent Opteron chips and have noticed tht the chips which 'cold bug' sonner are the ones which run quite cool. So i believe tht with CABNE 0530APMW, the better cooling you can provide, the higher you will go; (LOL, just stated the obvious, hehehee) with the CABNE's heat output taking care of the cold bug.

I think the CABNE 0530APMW, need their own nickname, LOL.

    Slightly off-topic

BA, you may have some serious competition in the CABNE 0530APMW benchies, the two peeps who have bidded on my item, one is from Sweden and the other is from Holand (both are new eBay users), i got a feeling i know who both are, heheheheee

It might be true My FX55 CABCE 0516WPMW runs really hot too, and the quality of this stepping is also well-known.
Unfortunately, your chip is too expensive for me actually As a professional reseller, I'm buying average Optys for much less, and I can't put that amount on a single chip even if it's the best... Good auction mate!
