    will work on xp, x64 xp and servers, server 2003

    That's only 2.47kb. Unzip it and double click on .reg file, press yes to apply them and reboot. PM me if you want more.
    It should be mentioned that there are two tweaks in this file which may cause problems for users!!!!

    The first tweak is:
    ;----- AMD Processor Fix
    ;----- dword:00000100= 256KB SecondLevel Cache, dword:00000200 = 512KB SecondLevel Cache, dword:00000400 = 1024KB SecondLevel Cache
    ;-----
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Memory Management]
    "SecondLevelDataCache"=dword:00000200

    This is not AMD specific AND it forces windows to think you have the set amount of L2 cache which can cause your OS to become unbootable or unstable if set incorrectly. This tweak is not recommended since the OS controls this by itself anyways.

    The second tweak is
    ;----- Optimize System Cache Size (might cause data corruption if you have ATI vid card and 1 gig of ram)
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Memory Management]
    "LargeSystemCache"=dword:00000001

    As stated it may cause corruption... use at your own risk.

    There are also more tweaks located in a thread pertaining to BattleField 2 with 4gb of ram.. somewhere around these forums.

    All along the watchtower the watchmen watch the eternal return.

    yeap i had massive problems booting the damn thing just now after applying those tweaks last night and shutting down......back up OK.....damn those tweaks gave me a headache ......thanks for confirming those exact problems STEvil

    HOW THE THE I GO BACK TO DEFAULT SETTINGS.............I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE

    i managed to get into windows by pressing F8 on start and selecting LAST GOOD CONFIGURATION.........did that go back to defaults or do i need to do that myself.....and how so

    Second level data cache is pretty harmless from my experience, i use it all the time, and if i change from a 1Mb lvl2 to a 512kb lvl2 chip i just change the reg entry after ive swapped and booted up (without a problem)

    I am so sick of installing diff OS's and running milliion diff settings and recording results Waus.
    The chip will get frozen again tommorrow... to try for some crazy things.
    I should be armed with some better OS tweaking.

    Good luck.

    A bit OT:
    Why is Win2K3 better for benching?
    It's lighter or what?

    Just a hint:
    Stock Windows Server 2003 x64 will smoke any heavily tweaked OS in SuperPI. All fun begins when you start tweaking that OS

    can you nlite it??
    nLite is awesome, you should use it, I support nLite development since 2004, test betas, fix code etc. author of that app is my close friend

    hacking few .sys and .dll won't hurt either

    @dinos22
    clear your prefetch folder
    SecondLevel Cache can't hurt your system, Windows don't even care about that entry
    LargeSystemCache hurting your OS is RARE, I never seen it happen but somebody reported that once

    Guys I'm planning to write ultimate tweaking guide, bringing OS to its knees, but I can't promise that yet

    Hi @dinos

    I made small .exe program tha will do the job (just a simple compiled .cmd)

    Cleans your HDD from junk files, applies RegTweaks and also cleans prefetch folder.

    A program will tell what he'd deleted, some files that it deletes are .tmp files (temporary files)

    You should restart you PC after rynning that .exe a few time
    by that Windows will recreate fresh prefetching files. Your first boot after first restart should be the longest one because Windows will create list of things that he will load on next bootup

    I would like the time to be about .15 lower at least at these clocks. I had 3 lite'd xp, 2k3, and 2k364 drives setup on sep partitions before session ready to rock and for some unknown reason, It was hardlocking like mad so I had to go back to my 3d benching drive I used before . I need to figure out wtf I messed up on the installs....they all worked great on air especially the 2k364bit.

    First REAL 4GHZ on AMD! That is just sick KP, big time congradulations on that! I know you can do 20s with a bit more tweaking. And hey you're still running IHS on and low voltage!

    need.for.mhz> I'd love to see a guide on that! I really know next to nothing about registry and OS tweaking. I'll try that patch on my bench setup when my 170 comes monday. I'll look into 64 bit server 2k3 as well.
