For those who're interested in the bling bling effect this is a nice alternative to the Ballistix Tracer....a good overclocker to boot, 3D stable at 271 @3-3-2 is impressive to say the least!! I have had 4 pairs of Redline and none of them can do any higher than 258...mostly do 250~255 so these Crucial are very nice indeed.
    Core i7 920 D0 3844A717 4.40Ghz HT on @1.36v (LinX/Prime/3D stable), Corsair 850W, 12GB OCZ Platinum 1600, P6T Deluxe V2, EVGA GTX 285 SS, OCZ Vortex SSD 30GB x3 RAID0, HAF 932.

thanks for more results, great attribute to XS.

Can you confirm if these are game stable at 271? Its just that i could run 3dmark 05 at 280 3-3-3-8, but not game stable above 260 ish.

Yes, 271MHz is "3D benchmark" as well as "game" stable in NFS-MW, Doom3 and FarCry. Those are games I have installed at the moment. If I go above that (regardless of timmings) I experience lock-ups, choppy movement, stuttering or occasional image corruption (e.g. two photos below, from NFSMW). Those have nothing to do with video card and are purely memory related, I'm 100% sure about that. It's just a wall not I'm not able to jump over.
But I've been very happy with 271MHz 5-2-3-3.0 in 3D on Infineon Rev.C based modules Those are excellent results!

    Great results!
What attracks my interest the most though, is the following question: Do the sticks get hot, I mean really hot, or are they rather luke warm while testing?

I ask because I have some Infineon BE-5 based 1GB sticks here which get quite hot while running memtest.

And those Corsair heatspreaders are the only ones (except for a few I saw on Patriot RAM), which actually have some surface area to get rid of the heat, instead of all those all shiny and smooth surfaces on most other availabe heatspreaders for RAM.

I agree about Corsair coming out with some good high end ddr1 again. Usually a little spendy but if its good people will pay.

yeah, this stuff is good, but not everybody will be able to run it.

there are multiple coolers on the market that Corsair Pro series can't be used with b/c of the modules height. this 2GB kit and the 3500LL one are only available in Pro series with LEDs, which is pretty dumb move by Corsair imho.

Very true! But somehow I don't see that Corsair would give us a choice: either LEDs or normal HSs... It would be cool to maybe make "LEDs segment" detachable? Hehe, just an idea

I was told that over 3 months wait from first previews (early Oct) is caused by Infineon parts not being readily available in quantities desired by Corsair. Nothing new... I wonder, why is Infineon not supplying enough of those to satisfy the demand? Anyone has any ideas?

Hopefully, they will release those modules very soon. I really want to see what they will do on average

Thanks high5 I heard about Nanya taking over DRAM branch of Infineon... I wasn't expecting that this will result in such short supply of Rev.C parts. I guess that's what happens...

    no problem.

as you can see from the 2nd link, Infineon is splitting in two independent companies. that transitional phase may be the reason for supply shortage.

The InsaneTek review of these sticks had the following update:

"We have just been informed by Corsair that the PC4400PRO 2GB kit is rated with a command rate of 2T, making the timings 3-4-4-8 2T."

Is that true of the sticks you received as well?

I read that earlier and was also informed by Corsair about it. I have used 1T throughout the entire testing, all the way up to 287MHz... Command Rate of 2T does not help in stabilizing them for 3D above 271MHz 5-2-3-3.0 (or looser latencies). Honestly, I don't think they should officially add 2T. It's not neccesary, it does not help for "highest 3D vs highest 2D phenomenon" and it might send the wrong message to enthusiasts (although, 2T does not mean a lot when it comes to gaming).

Great post, my Redlines top out at 254 in 3d, so I'm selling them and was looking for something that does around 270. Looks like these Corsairs might be just the thing.

    Thread resurrection:

Check out what finally showed up on Newegg today - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145028.

Corsair decided to hold off until CEBIT to officially announce it and today it finally arrived on Newegg. I'm told this is a new batch of CE-5 and I will try to get my hands on this new shipment to see if it clocks even better that the one I reviewed here.
