CCC: it's a part of the ATI catalyst driver. the control center.. you have it...
For OC in CCC you use the OVerdrive but it's limited... With the PE bios, you can set how many you will on core, but memory is limited..( stock bios is limited at 700/800 with the PE no limit on core allow you more cause it's at this speed at stock)
The ATi tool new version allow us it for Overclock ( with ATI-tool) or it was bad before this version fo do it...and set the voltage you need when OC.

    It's that when you enter 3D mode (1.4V), but with 2D mode it's at 1.325V..( after 740 i use 1.525V on core)
( it' why it's needed increase voltage when you use 2D Clock for OC)

I repeat: the ATi tool version 25.11, OC again with the 2D clock, it's just compared to other version, you can use it for do it, and you don't need yet to disable ATI smart and Hotkeypoller for do it, the soft do this himself when it's opened!!!

yes but be careful plz... don't burn your card!!

One thing i have see in my system.: the temp of mossfetts heat.. really high when i increase voltage ( voltage regultaor up in genral at same level of the memory)..be careful when use voltage increase.. if your card is not cool enough.. you will have some problem...

ok, i have flashed back to standard bios and following your ocing guide at i4memory and when i set the core back up to 725 and press set clock the screen goes black and i have to reboot. I tried 650 and it went black but then came back. Am i missing something, o you have to set the voltage first ?? any help would be appriciated. after all its your score im tring to beat

    oh oh guys,

    just posted on techpowerup.com

potential life span decrease from flashing PE bios according to ATI. The power demand of this bios requires hardware requirements now found on current cards.

yes set voltages first as CCC on stock bios upps 3D to 1.4v but using X1800 Oc tool with CCC services disabled you're at 1.3v not 1.4v

since you're on water just set ati tool gpu to 1.45v and then X1800 OC tool to overclock should be good if my card on air can do 742-749mhz around that voltage

try with cpu at stock to eliminate cpu/mem issues and see how far you go

on water try 1.5-1.55v but really depends on each card

Try up to 1.52 I guess would. 729/810 is still nothing to sneeze at. You are surely beating 10k with those clocks.

what are your voltage regulator temps under load ?
At stock without modification, it's 44°C idle, the problem ( if it's a prob), is it go up to more 60°C in full load..( with voltage software mod).
I use the DFI NF4 SLI DR and the fan of chipset is jut on the mossfet, second thing for refresh the chip of the DFI i have aluminum 120mm fans, a big perf fan blow on the chip, this permit to refresh the DFI chip.(45°C-> 28-30°C) but pehrpas this is a problem.. I ask me too if the ATI don't have a system like the 7800 with the 3point clock ( so a ratio is needed for OC the card fine)
But i like have the 11K some days after buy the card...

No suprise, not all cards can handle it. I think everyone is aware of the risks of overclocking. Besides ATI would rather scare u into buying a new X1800XT PE than overclocking an existing X1800XT

Well, i just flashed it back to original anyway. I simply don't need the extra voltage of the PE bios. I game @ 700/800 which goes perfectly fine with the stock bios.
With the PE bios, my load temp is ~5C higher due to the higher voltage. Unnecesary.

Where is that $%&*%^$# bios editor

place a fan blowing down on video card or blowing from behind so it cools board chipset as well as voltage regulator it can help somewhat i never got higher than 52-55C load temps on voltage regulator on regular air... with portable aircon blowing over the area now it's 42-44C load

I see.txs... But pehraps my PSU is not enough when i OC a lot on the ATI no problem at stock (700/800), but the CPU / memory OC in full load, and now the ATI, should take a lot of power, the Hiper is enough in normal condition, but with my 2 Circuits of water, with 4 radiators and 4x Fans minimum on each... The led UV external and internal etc... it can begin do a too much, so pehraps i cam e close to the limit and the variation on 12V caused by this, cause this random crash.. I have see a strange message when crash...giving by 3Dmark: the "display have changed"!!
Any idea of what can be the cause? (clock speed reduced pehraps and caused by a alert or a variation on core or mem voltage...)

Nice this 11'380 score !!! good job and allways in air!!!

I've just flashed my BIOS after having overclocking problems to see if it can cure it

My card is being so weird that whenever Overdrive in CCC sets the card at 690/797 speeds it locks up and suffers from flashing textures in the 3DMark05 benchmark especially in the forest test

When I flashed there's less flashing textures in the forest test but it's getting on my nerves

Above is the statistics of my card during the benchmark and it looks fine to me . My case temperature is 30C which is fine

    Can anyone offer help please?

I've got the 109-A52031-20 PCB version if that helps

Dont use the CCC and overdrive for overclocking. Use Ati tool beta 11 from www.techpowerup.com to OC with
