    weird software-voltage readings

hello.i have an antec truepower 550 psu.volt modded back in the day when hellfire was around
    mb is an abit ic7g
bios will read out properly the 12v,and 5 v lines,
but it will read the 3.3v line as say 3.26 volts.
speedfan will read out the 12 and 5 volt lines properly, but again the 3.3
    line will sometimes read 3.23.
yet when i meter the 3.3v line on the atx connector it reads 3.45 volts
which is what i have it adjusted to.
when taking the reading i have 5 volt and 12volt load from cdrom, and some fans.
anny explanation for the wonky 3.3v readings??

    Hi jtf2.

I am that Hell-Fire you are referring to...and I cant do more than I did to make things right for those involved. Be sure you know all the facts.

    What motherboard are you running?

Keep in mind that sometimes the input rails and the readings from software are different because of the load factor. You may be getting 3.45v into the board, but the read could be lower based on the fact that say the 3.3v rail is tasked with handling Vdimm or whatever else.

Or it could be as simple as the software not reading right for various reasons pertaining to onboard IC not doing its job properly. Always trust the DMM over any software package.

Have you taken these readings when the board is being stressed by say 3DMark, SuperPI, etc?
