The feeling of satisfaction from knowing I am exceeding stock FX65 speeds... is hard to describe.

IHS is on and it's definitely staying that way

I got it from Monarch 2 weeks ago during the 1 day sale for $299 OEM. Someone on anandtech reported receiving the same chip as mine today from monarch. Performance/$ is unbeatable. Hell, for running on air just the performance is near unbeatable at 24/7 stability.

Thats encouraging for me since I got the same processor from Monarch. What kind of cooling are you using. I'm planning on an SI-120 with a Silverstone FM121 fan.

    wow sounds very promising.
Might get one when they are a little cheaper.
Sooner or later you need a dualcore cpu anyway

Nice 165, I got mine the same time as you from monarch.
Interesting that it does 2.7 at stock voltage but needs 1.5 for 2.8.

Sadly the first core on my 165 isnt so great.
2.7 1.45 both 8+ hour prime stable both cores
2.8 1.45 first core craps out of prime second core is fine
2.8 1.5 first core craps out of prime second core is fine
2.8 1.55 first core craps out of prime second core is fine

i guess ill have to settle for 2.7 1.45 for daily use.

    0546 Mpwm

My 165 is core 1 is doing 290x9@2610 at stock voltage (MBM5 read 1.30 vcore, BIOS read 1.32vcore) "what is the stock vcore on these opterons??), core 2 craps out 5 mins in prime.

Not that satisfied, was hoping for 2.7 at stock voltage for 24/7 use.

Will update once I play a bit more

Btw what is a good vcore for 24/7 use? I am hoping to use this system for 2 years.

*Updated sig to reflect most current system spec.

Those are some nice clocks for so late in the game (stepping wise).

I have my 0546SPMW sitting on my desk just begging to be overclocked.... I got some DDR600 RAM so hopefully 2.7ghz (300x9) on stock voltage is very possible! I am lapping my Thermaltake Big Typhoon right now, and it's getting a beefier fan!
