I actually decided to stretch my luck tonight. I tried 3 different XT bioses. One original, one the PE version, and on XT 256mb version - non of them worked on my XL. All booted fine into windows. The clocks were set to 595/695 or somewhere close to that. It was using the VGA driver as windows could not recognize the card. As with before, a reinstall of the ATI drivers did not do anything.Originally Posted by ugp
Looks like with my Sapphire X1800XL card it is a no go for an XT bios. Fun giving it a try - living on the edge. Not sure if it was my card or not, or what prevented it from working. At least I got back to a normal state. Stupid stunt, but now people know the answer.
