    V-mem mod for P4PE?

Hi everybody, is there any way to increase the v-mem over 2.9v on Asus P4PE?
A modded BIOS like the one for IT7 would be the best...but an electrical mod should be great too!
    Thank you all.

well modded bios only worked coz the options were only hidden...

Asus uses all these weird ass voltage regulators, ur best bet is to prob ask DDTUNG, who is our volt mod guru here

What can you tell me about this modded BIOS for P4PE? I never heard of it...

    Over 2.9V DDR?

I think you need to read this thread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&threadid=8420

It has ANPEC APL1581, check it out with ASUS P4PE, if they are the same chips, congratulations!!!! Thanks to charlie, though...

    Short the first two pin ( 1 & 2 ) with 10K variable resistor.

    Yeesss!!!
    It's it: APL1581 - AE9G3. Now I need a tester to check the voltages...

With my brand new tester I checked the voltages of the APL1581:
    - setting the vdimm to 2.5v, 2.6v or 2.7v I read: 2.70-1.43-2.70-4.80-3.29 on each pin;
    - setting the vdimm to 2.9v I read: 2.90-1.63-2.90-4.80-3.28 on each pin.
It looks me strange...whatever vdimm I set in BIOS, does the mobo always provide 2.70v except for 2.90v?
Do these readings say anything about the mod?

Do you measure the voltage on pin #2(Ground) and #3(Vout) ?

What value and type of resistor do you use? I think you can follow charlie... with 10K ohm variable resistor.

BTW, your P4 1.8A is running 3.4GHz ? How did you do that? any tips? I have P4-1.8A and P4PE too at 2.6GHz

I checked every single pin using the case as ground...

Check again by connecting your voltmeter to Pin#2 (ground / black) and #3 (Vout / red). The best way to measure: you can solder long wires to the pin and measure them accordingly.

Don't use ground from chassis because it's too strong. Lucky you... your mobo still survive.

See the reading when you set the BIOS 2.50V, 2.60V, 2.70V, and 2.90V.

I'm just checking the voltages for now. I'm going to use a 10k trimmer to do the mod.
By the way, if I measure the voltage between pin2 (GND) and pin1 (or pin 3) I read 1.27v.

Ok... I read it.... very impressive... 100% OC !!!.

Is it with Asus P4PE mobo and you set the CPU voltage 1.800 in BIOS MENU?

I set 1.75v in BIOS to have 1.800 in idle. And yes, it's a P4PE.
