    Hi, does anyone know a pencil mem vmod for 6600gt pci-e?

    That picture makes it quite clear, thanks! I'm lucky you bumped this thread, it doesn't pop up when searching for "6600 GT voltmod"...

    EDIT: I see now, one of those is for VCore and one is for VDDR. Is there no known VDDQ mod for these cards? Would such a mod even net any gains?

    Thanks.

    looks like nobody knows, how to make pencil memory vmod :-(

    connect 2 50ko variable resistor to tp504(for gpu vmod) & tp503(for mem vmod),and connect the other side of 2 resistors to ground,then adjust the resistor.
    you can find the position of tp503/tp504 from below (right below u502,there are two "large size" via marked "tp504"&"tp503")
    Does this mod actually call for a 50K Ohm VR?

    Kunaak mentioned he used a 4.7K resistor for VDDR/VDDQ and saw a 0.3V increase - so I suppose I can use a 10K OHm VR for this one safely.

    Will a 10K Ohm VR do the trick for VCORE? What kind of overvoltage will I see, using the tp504 method and a 10K OHm VR?

    i did the vddr mod and it showed no improvement basically maybe 2-3mhz

    to get more memory speed keep increasing the core voltage and the meme speed will keep climbing

    Really?

    Do you think this is due to the memory interface that this core uses?

    I did the memory mod too and I got an 50Mhz increase at 2.16V.I have Asus EN6600GT.
    I noticed that my card doesn't overclock memory like other cards do.Only max 1095 from stock 1000.After voltmod I can run at 1150.
    I noticed also that my card's bios has very tight memory timings,even beyond specifications for Samsung chips.Other cards,that overclock very well,have more relaxed timings,like for 1.6ns memory chips(ex. Gigabyte).
    Performance,though,is about the same with tight timings and lower speed,and with relaxed timings and higher speed.
    Indeed,modding the core,gives some room for memory overclock,but nowhere close to the real voltmod.And I would like to add,that is no need of soldering for this voltmod,for those scared of this.
    Just put a wire in the TP503 hole,and attach the ground wire anywhere -case,black wire in molex.

    wow seaman you may be onto something

    my gigabyte 6600gt did 1379 3dmark stable with only core volt mod
    i was running 3dmark 2001 at 670/1379 and it had very little artifact 3dmark 2003 and 2005 would only run about 655/1350
    so maybe the vmem mod gives boost to speed with low clocking memory from stock.
    i remember i tried all the way to 2.6 or something really stupid high and only got cooking hot memory that did like 4-5 mhz more lol
    stock volts for mem was best for me anybody else want to share thier experiences?
    my card had 2.0ns memory for the record and i do not belive on 6600gt card the 1.6ns memory has any advantage i belive like felinusz suggested maybe the memory interface is the holdback because my memory only did about 1200 with stock volts and 1350 easy with 1.75 gpu volts

    everyone please share

    My card does 1070 MHz on the memory (according to coolbits... I need to get powerstrip and find out what the RAM will *actually* do) with stock voltages, good airflow, and copper RAMsinks on the memory chips. The RAMsinks are stock on my card, I am not sure how good the RAMSink contact is, my card is a PCI-E BFG 6600 GT OC with a stock memory speed of 1050 MHz.

    This BFG OC card seems to be an average card, it does not look like it (I have only run the coolbits autodetect so far, I have been too busy to spend time on the card and hook up my pelt to it as of yet) will OC like the XFX and ASUS models I have seen, much to my dissapointment. I was expecting really good RAM on my card due to the supposed better speed bin on the slightly overclocked model. I am sure voltage and a peltier will assist with both the core and the memory.

    I'll be voltmodding my card either today or tommorrow. I have a 10K VR for the memory voltmod, I'm just waiting on a 50K for the core mod since noone has definitively mentioned how much resistance one should use for the core mod and the TP504 method.

    brandinb, is your card AGP or PCI-E? 1350 is insane for 2.0ns memory.

    just fyi i use a 10k for the core voltage it has enough resistance

    i would do the core v-mod i bet it will get your more mem clocks then the mem v-mod

    test it out and please share!

    I've found pencil Vmem mod.
    The point is changing (decreasing) of resistance of R36 (outlined by red).

    Before this mod: Vmem = 2.05V. R36 = 410Ohm. To measure Vmem everyone should use yellow caps.
    After this mod: Vmem = 2.25V. R36 = 365Ohm.
    That's all.
    P.S. DON'T resolder this one to resistor with resistance equals 365Ohm. The real resistance of this one is 1.54KOhm. If nevertheless you wanna resolder R36, your should APPROXIMATELY use other one which resistance equals to 1KOhm.

    Question

    I have a problem, my card doesn't look like yours. So i don't know where I shall measure or mod it. Someone that has a clue?

    Here are two pictures of my card:

    I haven't tested yet cause I hate pencil mods. I found this mod cause I wanna replace R36 with other one with resistance equaled 1KOhm.
    Today or tomorrow I'll do it and then I'll test it.
    Now I've done Vgpu mod via replacing R589=3.08KOhm with other one R=1.18KOhm.
    Now my voltage table has next view:

    Voltage Level 0 : Vgpu = 1.13V => VID = 0
    Voltage Level 1 : Vgpu = 1.23V => VID = 1
    Voltage Level 2 : Vgpu = 1.65V => VID = 2
    Voltage Level 3 : Vgpu = 1.75V => VID = 3

    Hey you guys. I really need some help here!

    Take a look at this picture of my card, Gainward 6600GT Golden Sample:

    Someone recognizes that one? As far as I can see it is not like http://www.vr-zone.com.sg/index.php?i=1636&s=3.

    Here is the back of the card, bigger picture http://home.no/datamods/6600GT/6600GT%20voltages.JPG. I have found some voltages, down left you see 1,24V, can that be vcore?

    What do I have to do now?

    Vmem changed up to 2.26V. It added above 100+ MHz extra!
    I think I'll get 200MHz extra changing Vmem up to 2.33-2.35V!
    P.S. No timings changes!

    Edit:
    i just chect and i dont have any tp*** at all
    heres some pics of the card, sorry about the quality, if you can guide me or something im dieng to mod it already, thanks

    How much would be safe to put thru the gpu on a 6600GT? Depends on temp or is there a "safe" limit?

    I have an XFX 6600GT PCI-E and I think I got it to go on 1.5V using only a modded bios.. Higher values were selectable so I'd like to try them but I don't wanna fry anything so I figured I'd ask before going any higher

    The weird part is I can get only about 10 MHz higher compared to stock voltage (1.3V)... I was actually expecting a bit more than that :/
    However at stock voltage my card did ~610 which wasn't bad at all I think.
    I did measure a 1.52V on the back of the card tho, so I'm positive that the bios update actually did change the voltage.

    I've put 1.9v through mine so far without an ill effect on it but that was with -10c aircooling outdoors. Indoors (normal ambient) i've run 1.8v for quite awhile with no problems.
    Now i've mounted up a swiftech watercooler on it and plan on hitting 2v with -15c ambient to see what it'll max at.
    You might see a trend with what i'm proposing... If it dies so be it, i could use a new toy around christmas
