    www.8rdafaq.com Lots of info needed

Well, the new domain name is up and the site has been moved to a new host at www.8rdafaq.com But I really need to take the site to the next level content-wise. I've got the basics down, but now I need to get into the less common problems, and for that I turn to the forums. I've been going through hundreds of post on multiple forums and I'm going crazy at this point. I figured that I could post a request like this and maybe by the time i'm doing going through old info I might have some great responses I'm searching for the following:

    1. Post codes/errors that people are encountering, and a possible cause/solution if known (other then C1/FF). The manual is absolutely useless for this.
    2. More info on the vdimm mod (yeah I know there is a lot going around now, but i'm still a touch short on what resistors to use and what resistances to start with) and if possible a high res image of the area that the mod is done in to use as a template for a diagram. I haven't done the mod myself so its rather difficult to explain to others.
    3. More about adding caps to the back of the board. I'm no electrical engineer but I understand the value of this, and it would be a really easy mod, even for those with only basic soldering skills.
    4. INPUT! I get tons of emails asking how do I fix this or that (always common problems) or general thanks for making the site comments, but no real input on how to make it better! Also I want to know about any problems you had along the way with your board.

Anwyays, thanks to all those who have been supportive and I appreciate any help that can be offered.

No thanks! I wish would only have taken "hints" from me, although it appears that most of the stolen content is gone. (not trying to sound like a :banana::banana::banana:, I just have a subitle hatred for that site after what we've been through)

    Heres a problem I encountered:

If "FF" POSTs first and doesnt go away--RMA the board.

    LOL, had to say it.

dont put pci cards in slot 6, it shares an IRQ with the AGP slot, i moved my raid controller from 6-5 and experienced a substantial 3dmark increase, dont know if u have this

Dont use PCI #2 either, I think it also shares an IRQ.

Yup, you are right to think that, why anyone would put a PCI card directly in front of a graphics card is another matter though...but still, handy info,

Very well said its an unfortunate thing though.

I haven't checked the site lately but u might want to include how u can get xp2600's upper multipliers by cutting the 5'th L3 and how a L12 cut might possibly help performance. I know finding the L5 a while back was a pain in the butt. As of las that i saw ur sight it seemed very complete. U might want to start elaborating to common components that ppl would use with th 8rda+ (the 2600+ would be a great start).

You should add www.overclockersforum.com to the Resources page.

    Got a few post codes.

"01" Reading a Bad SPD chip setting in slot 1
"02" Reading a bad SPD chip setting in slot 2
    "03" Guess.
Booting with a stock stick of cheap crap and changing the settings fix it.
"7f" Floppy failing (crazy I know)

BTW, I have your site stickied. Very nice.

I have noticed a few little errors here and there, but I can't think of any but one.

In your Mosfet Cooling section, you say the PSU only puts out 12v/5v. What about 3.3V

When u are satisfied with your 8rda page u could add a nice nf7-s v1.2 page. I just ordered one couse i broke my new 8rda+ again (damn FF codes). I'll see what abit did with the nf2.. hopefully i'll have the good luck i had with my first 8rda+ before I killed it.
