    All RDX200 Owners report.

Hi guys I am looking for everyone using a rdx200 cf-dr for their rig.

Whats is the max htt stable your board does. What speed do you run for 24/7 use.

What problems are you having with the board.

    Do you recommend it?

Deciding between this and the asus a8n32 sli. Crossfire will be very nice to have when mastercard is out and reviewers hint that the x1800xt crossfire > nvidia 7800grx 512 SLI

Why is that? I was looking at that board of the DFI Expert. My current SLI-DR gets 70c on the 3 phase power with a Dual Core Opteron. Need a better phaseing power that runs cooler. I hear the Asus's runs real cool.

and to the OP... that board has no SATA II and bad USB 2.0 I believe. Another bad thing. I hear it's killed lots of processors too.

The Asus is a better choice than the expert right now. Expert is great for benching but it is not very reliable. They are being shipped with busted transitors and there are other problems. The asus is much more stable/safe. The asus is very powerful and runs cooler than the dfi mbs.

So does the bios actually reset everytime you restart? How often does your board lockup during post. After lockup does the bios reset?

i had the rdx200, and it worked fine althought it stopped posting after unpluging my keyboard ps/2 connecter with the power on. the whole problem i had was my ballistix, which followed me to my eXpert board that i got to replace my rdx200. i think they are both good boards. no matter what one you do get your gonna run into people that have problems with the board you choose.

I have an RDX200 with an Opteron dual core 180. I can use HTT up to 340 if I chose too, but my OCZ4000 gold only does 260ish, so I settled for 312htt X 10 for 3.12ghz. Runs fine with decent memory settings. I love the board, it's fast with a spiffy 26sec superpi and 10.3k 3dmark05 with an X1800XT slapped in. Seems the 3 different ways to run the system (340x9.5) (312x10) (265x12) all produce the same benches, so heck with it, I just chose the middle one and settled on that.

Yeah another vote for the RDX. Also does a 26 Pi but htt limited to ~320. Still it seems a very smooth and responsive m/b. No bios probs for me.

AFAIK, the restart "issue" with the RDX was actually intentionally implemented by Oskar Wu. IIRC, it had something to do with being able to post even if your oc was too high (which normally results in a blank screen and having to reset the bios physically in other boards). I don't think you've given the Expert enough credit - There's only been one incident of the board frying a cpu (OPB) and that wasn't exacltly all the board's fault either .....

oskar wu gives the fix for the cold boot and restart issue by disabling the USB mouse in BIOS here: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/show...5&page=3&pp=15

I actually gave the expert plenty of credit. The overclocks on it were awesome. I was the one actually laughing at the people who got all hysterical because of OPBs problems. It was just 1case.

I am getting my expert this week so I will deff. give it a go. Most likely will be the mb I will use for my 24/7 rig and will do plenty of benchies on it too.

Reason for this thread is because I am also thinking about picking up a rdx200 because I would like to use crossfire w/ 2 x1800xts as soon as mastercard is out. Anandtech and others arte hinting xcrossifre > 7800gtx 512 SLI.

Btw stephen any probs with sata raid0 on the expert? Stable enough for 24/7 use?

Nope, no problems whatsoever with the raid on the board. Why? Are there reported issues with it? It's just as/if not more stable than my previous 10 (yes I said 10) DFI Utra/SLI-d/SLI-DR's. Also, it's able to run ram @ timings that were unthinkable on the older generation of boards:

Very nice OC on the FX-57. Is that for 24/7 use or just for max SPI bench.

Btw my eXpert just arrived. Well since the RDX200 had some SATA raid issues I naturally had to ask. On the rdx200 some ppl had to disable controllers 1&2 and use 3&4 instead for some reason. Wouldnt boot or somethign....

Btw stephen what gfx card you using. I am considering the rdx200/X1800xt router since crossfire beats SLI according to anandtech (i trust wess). OPP gave me some hints too :P

Well, at the least, my 32m settings are 24/7 stable. In fact, I ran that 32m with my memory in the wrong slots (yellow instead of orange) so I know there's more left in both the cpu and the memory. I'm using only a x850xtpe stock clocks (I'm more of a cpu guy than a video guy), but should have an x1800xt hopefully soon....

My RDX200 doesn't hang anymore after latest bios.
Both my 4000VX and XP4000 Redline ram works great on this board.
Unfortunately, I am limited using my FX 55 Clawhammer.
Some reason my FX 55 San Diego is not liked on this board.
I am running Crossfire with X850's and must say CF is looking good.

The anand comment was that X1800XT in CF beats 7800 GTX 256mb in SLI, not the 512mb cards. Basically it just means that CF has similar performance increase numbers to SLI since XT beats GTX256. /shrug

I heard otherwise. Talked to AACDirect also.
