cuz it seems as if THEY ALL (or at least most) have a "boo-boo." Don't quite know what it affects, but it sure looks like enough damage to do "something"

I would RMA that.. why risk a good chip on an imperfect board?

Modern Ram, makes an old overclocker miss BH-5 and the fun it was
mine got that as well, but sounds like not doing anything bad for past week until now.
Another scary DFI feature. Now i'm curious, what will yhey have to say about this new one.
No boo boo on mine.

it probly just effects the sound going out the rca jacks. im sure its not an issue.
Yeah I have the same thing on mine. I think there is something wrong with my eXpert cuz I couldnt even install an OS last night with 2x512 sticks of TCCD. I could only do it with one. When I put one stick in the first orange slot closest to the chipset I just get bios beeps. But when I put a stick in the second one it works just fine. I even tested both sticks of ram to make sure they are ok and they are fine. It just seems that the first 2 slots the orange and the yellow closest to the chipset done like to be used alone. Go figure....But now that my os is installed I can run dual channel using the orange slots. So WTF is it time for another RMA???
Yes, to RMA is to remove the filth that appears with the rest of your good hardware...

I really dont think that little thing is a prob cuz it only relates to the s/pdif and I am not doing any recording...
What exactly is it?

looks like a damaged trace or land area. My cap or resister (what ever the smd device is) doesn't look that damaged like the one in the pic, but the area to the right of it looks crispy.Originally Posted by 5days

My first run very fine. I feel Expert more stable than previous nf4. Very good feeling. Need time to tweak.![]()
sheesh.. I have been looking forward to the eXpert for a long time and then all of these problems.. it is really a shame.
I took a close look at a board with the damage, it looks like trace was cut and they put some kind of sealer over the exposed trace.
This might have been to fix audio problems, maybe buzz in audio.

Did it came with boo boo right out of the box or did it happened after you had it up and running? I would RMA it even if it appears to be running just fine....
