    RDX200 up in smoke...

Well, after it took my FX55 0442 claw (RIP), it wont boot with 3500 venice and Zippy700W.
Changed to Antec 500 and it booted for a fraction of second with terrifiying "bzzzt" sound....theres smoke came from this area...

Good thing it didn't take my AMD 3500 with it

Thats it for new generation mobo ...I'm back with my trusty Ultra-D..

Been seeing DFI mobo no matter what chipset its using kill Ram and CPU.

You would think DFI would learn from past mistakes.

Eva, I doubt DFI will take a look at this.....it was a user error same as Mikeguava.
Also, I ran it with cascade with high vcore and vdimm and Zippy700W for a while.
Well...its "death in combat" like any other hardware that didn't make it..

well i don't mean rma but just so they (DFI) can figure out whether it's problem with the board itself

I suspect the power regulator have something in it. If you remember that Zippy wont work with 4V jumper on Ultra-D/SLI-DR, but with this new jumperless design mobo its work ok......for a while.

I got a question for you guys. Would you all still jump on DFI boards if it didn't offer 4vdimm? I mean seriously, aren't you guys even remotely scared or at least doubtful of the stuff they put out? If someone's home and the mobo fries, its "ok" but what if no one is home and the damn thing catches fire?

what hardware I choose depends on what parts I want at the time, if your going for ram that needs 3+ volts, you want dfi no doubt. Even then, even if you don't use it, it's nice to know u have the headroom, personally, until other MB manufacs offer better stuff, I'll prob always stick with dfi. good baords, good bios support, good engineer, good forum support, no one beats them. No I'm not scared

Edit : I don't mean their forum support either, I meant ours, haha.

I would probably look elsewhere if DFI didnt offer the 4V Vdimm option anymore.

Dumo...I would suggest you to talk to Oskar Wu about this and see what he think the problem is, this sort of stuff is serious and need to be investigate...regardless if it was user mistake or not!! if the problem was high vcore then they should put a capped on it at maybe 1.75v or whatever to prevent BBQ chip/mobo in the future, if the problem is caused by that Zippy PSU then DFI need to officially make the announcement so we all know what to avoid or keep an eye on. make sure whatever you guys do....in no circumstances should you brought this up at DFI street forum as you'll get a "permanent vacation and IP banned for life" by their tech support Angry_Game or whatever the heck his name is.... I'm sure someone going to declare this as yet another "isolated" issue...

What is happening with DFI dam...my MOBO go to "hell" to...in smoke and fire...as I said in my thread about DFI NF4 smoking&burning Fortunately did not took my RAM, but I`m note sure for my CPU and GPU yet...will test it today...I`m choosing now a new MOBO but don`t know which one to take... I have also call the shop where buy it and they said that DFI does not cover such a kind of burn-out... I have also open a thread on dfi-street and written an e-mail to DFI NL...but no answer from anyone of DFI crew...

I think my next MOBO won`t be a DFI...but I have Mushkin redline ram so the choices are limited...

if the DFI folks ignored your problem then you're pretty much SOL hopefully your shop would refund atleast some money back to you. As for your Redline...you have two options if you were to chose a different brand mobo, first...get the OCZ booster, second...sell them and get yourself another pair of Redline 2GB kit or OCZ EB, they only required about 2.6~2.9v.

Finaly have a respond from DFI here it is the content of the mail:

    Dear Customer,

Thank you for taking time submit us the query. As per your photos posted on forum, improper usage might be the root of why reseller rejected your RMA request, we assume it’s from JP17, and that kind damage of burnt also caused your on-hand motherboard(s) become not repair-able. Enclosed captured page from User’s manual please find for your reference.

If you still have interest to purchase our product. We may still evaluate and provide you the direct service and special discount, please send us the information as below to confirm the products you had purchased.

    1. A copy of your purchase invoice and from your reseller.

    2. The Serial Number of the motherboard.

    3. Your postal address and contact details.

    4. The price of your purchased products (might also states on purchase invoice).

    5. The reseller you purchased the motherboard from (also the retailer's website address if available)

    As I understand it wasn`t my fault but the Jp17 bug...but I will not get a new MOBO...just a specila discount...WTF?!

    Regards,
    Primoz
