Awesome rig !! 300x10 with 2gigs is a great gaming machine

I'm looking forward to run my Opteron with my OCZ PC4000 EB, but these won't do 300MHz, that's for sure =/

What voltage are you putting through the mem to get them to 300mhz? I've got mine running up to 290mhz on the Expert at 2.85v but I'm not sure if I want to push them any harder for 24/7 duty.

Did you also test you're ram on a "non-expert" nF4? How fast did it go?

    Nice result!

My Ballistix were a bit weird. It needs at leat 2.8V for it to post on both SLI-DR and Expert. Then it started falling apart and I cna't keep it stable even at DDR500. Being sent back for RMA. i hope I have goood sticks like yours.

I've had at least 6 sticks of Micron chips die on me after being OCed @ 2.8-2.9v for 24/7 use. They always start erroring after 2-3 months tops, even with a fan over them. This is why OCZ discontinued the PC3700EB stuff.

Friend of mine had PC3200 1GB ballistix kit die on him the same way as well.

man...I'm still waiting for my RMA pair of ballistix but the 2nd pair that I'm using now is dying already, only have this pair for 3 weeks and I have them at 2.8v 95% of the time, highest they ever saw was 2.9v for short period of time but this crap is getting old.... same degrading symptoms as the first pair, I thought the first pair was just coincidence but it looks like I'm not the only one. This is getting ridiculous to go through 2 pairs in less than 2 months I'm done with micron....anybody know some good replacement please PM me.....

Mine went bad after about 2-3 months too.. i just sent them to Newegg for RMA, gonna see if they will let me get a refund to buy different brand sticks. It seems inevitable that the Ballistix die over time.

What settings are you using for 280Mhz stable? I haven't seen any PC4000EB @ 280 prime and windows memtest stable...

Same here, 2.9v will kill the ballistix, they may work fine for benching but under 24/7 use definetly keep at 2.8v or less.

you sure? as reason PC3700EB was discontinued was Micron changed the die revisions which ended up not up to spec with what OCZ needed for PC3700EB

Im was running a 180 Divider with T1 3-3-2-10 timings it wont do 1:1 at 280 anything above 286 HTT gets unstable I have got it too post at 290 but thats about as unstable as it gets but will post. The sweet spot on these seems to be about 270 Htt with 3-3-2-8 timings T1 with the 180 divider I play alot of FPS mostly COD 2 and it runs all night no problem. I just flashed to the new DFI FX60 BIO and so far so good , I tried the 704-2BTA but my system became very unstable even at lower HTT's so I went ahead and flashed to the new ones.

yes, the D die is 110nm.

but then again, i've had a stick of micron 5b D in a crucial value stick:
    http://xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=66657

i've never had a problem with them, and i used em for quite a long time at 2.9v (>3 months), and gave it 3.0v for a day or two, and went for a couple 3.2v benching sessions.
Got a fan over those memory sticks? No? Well get to it before you kill them

Yep...I run no more than 2.75v for 24/7 use. I haven't had any problems. But, long before we saw this streak of dying ram, I remember Crucial saying to stay away from the higher voltages.

i'm thinking there's some components on the ballistix PCB that don't like dealing with the high current that the 5b D draws, and that's why i was able to abuse my 5b D so hard on the BP808 pcb, but the ballistix is randomly dying with the levin pcb?

Crap... this is not what I wanted to hear right now - I just ordered the ballistix yesterday to replace my value sticks.

Strange though because I've been running this ram at 2.9v 24/7 for the past two months (250mhz 3-3-3-7) without any problems. The value ram uses the same chips as the ballistix doesn't it?
