It might be good to ask cpuz why it's reading 194 etc. I don't think it's bs since the venice that was unlocked also had the missing x-64 instruction just like yours. I think you should download version 1.31 though. http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-131.zip

Also you might want to try cbbid and everest and see if it adds any info about the x64 instructions. The other guy rma'd his over the x64 although I would probably consider a decent trade even if they don't still work. The only way to really know would be to install a 64bit os which I don't think he did. I have a feeling the id bit is probably screwed and not the instructions themselves.

So congratulations I wish mine would unlock! How did you discover that it was unlocked? Did something happen or did it come that way?

i was testing a 148 (x11); finished, took it out and mounted this 146 without changing anything in bios; booted, and after a cpu-z i realized it was x11 instead of x10; not only, when i was down to 11 or 10 i never succeeded to pass above @3451 (with DI), now with prometeia piing 1 mega at @3507 with .03v less !!

i think most of ppl that (is lucky) "unlock" their chips run a higher multiplier processor 1st then swap that to lower multiplier processor

when i put my 146 in the other day the multiplier options were open in the bios ( only down though if i remember) completely forgot to check if they worked

edit: gcpuid seems to agree with me to

in order to possibly dissolve any residual reasonable doubts, linking you to my previous posts, in non suspicious time, when i didn't know that my cpu was unlocked and where, you will note, the cpu is identified as opteron 194:

Hmm, and a unlocked 939 CPU again ...

This makes me wondering, in what part of the system can we found the reason it was unlocked?

It is probably some error that was to be found in the hardware when you bought it. But, did the processor unlock itself ('faulty' processor) or did the motherboard unlock the processor ('faulty' motherboard)?

Do have the possibility to try the same sequence again with similar chips? Is the chip also unlocked on other motherboards?

Could it just be an FX-55/57 programmed as an Opteron but they forgot to lock it?
