figures, why me? The card was MINT for 3 days, infact I thought it was going to a very good card due to the fact that it did 575 on the core stock when others would do 560 max. After 3 days this suddenly happens? Temps were never above 54c which 20c less than the stock cooler for this card.

Have u tried a bios update on ur MOBO?

Well theres always the chance you might get a newer core rev with a new card. I personally wouldn't mind a A15 core

It went from 549, to 540 to 513 in a matter of 3 days with no voltage change or higher clocks than that. Card is slowly dying I think.

If it makes you feel any better - I cannot overclock my card without at least adding a little voltage. Once I do that everything is fine. I am convinced these cards needs good cooling and a lot of patience. The first couple of days I was a little concerned that I would not have a good card.

I started getting this last night when I run 05. Notice the rainbow border around the screen? What in Lords name is happening to my card.

I seen that in Farcry too and world of warcraft when i got bloom enabled, but that was with X800XT .. weird

Bloom enabled? How do I go about disabling that? You have seen something EXACTLY like this before? Is it a bug/driver setting or a defective core cause man im stressing out. I spent a lot of money on this card and I am not the most financially stable either. I save for a long time to get these parts so I take it very hard when things go wrong. Either way I am done playing games. I am formatting now and putting CAT 5.11 in from the get go to see what I come up with. Either way 3dmark01 is crashing to desktop all the time now where as it never did even once all weekend. I really hope my Windows is just dirty but I have never had 01 crash on me from a bad driver install. Have you?

Your not the only one that 01 crashes for also. Mines been crashing constantly and I have no clue why. It passes all 03 and 05 benches, plays games perfectly, yet it likes to bomb out in 01 either right away or in the dragon test, take your pick. My 01 only works when I'm at stock, so I've given up on 01 since I'm not testing my system speed im trying to test my graphics card.

It started to appear on BF2 and lately HL2 lost coast... so i did abit of troubleshooting. Reverting back to 5.10a, try out with the driver from the cd.... all to no avail.... so in the end i went back to the shop to change a new card. And my problem is solve...
what exactly i saw is square square funny things appearing on my screen... on the HL2 is even worst when i enable HDR. I assume x1800xl is a very fragile card which need extra attention when ocing... i don't intend to o/c it anymore, as now i got no problem playing games on max setting.

check the right side, that with bloom effect enabled in a game, its ok, until i enable AA, then it shows these funny effects on sides depends on what you see. If i enabled it in farcry .. AA .. it was similar, at least with X800, dont have FC anymore, and cant reproduce this rainbow in 3D Mark 05 you seen yet.

Yea, it is really damn annoying to say the least. I too can pass 03, 05, aquamark and games without issue but 01 keeps crashing to desktop showing no trace that it was even running to begin with. I would leave the room for a bit, come back and bam, gone. For the first 3 days I had this card I was looping 01 for hours on end with no issues. As soon as I started getting issues with the card graphically 01 stopped completing 100% of the time. Either way I just installed my two 74GB raptors and formatted again to a fresh install. Just finishing my driver installs then am going to see what I come up with. I will post back here when I have results which I hope are going to be favourable. I really do appreciate EVERYONE who is responding to my posts and helping me out. I really do appreciate it greatly so thank you kindly to all.

An RMA is the last thing I want to do on this card being only 5 days old considering it 'was' running so well, however, if need be then I will have to do it. This is really disheartening.

Thanks for taking the time to take a picture. I do see what you mean however it is far worse on my screen and considering I have no such bloom options in 05 the problem must lie elsewhere. As I said above my new install is about complete so will be testing for the rest of the night with updates being posted here. I do think these cards can be quite finicky to say the least and the more issues I have the more I wish I waited for an XT but we will see. The card runs fantastic when all is going well and as should.

I just got yesterday X1800XL Sapphire and I'm stuck on GPU 600MHz(1.175V) MEM 660MHz(default V) above those values I have artifacts ects. It's strange that I had yesterday 640MHz GPU(1.3V) and 700MHz MEM (2.0V) .I'm waiting for Vga Silencer@X1800 I hope it'll works...

Nice, but don't shoot to 1.3V! The heat output from the cards is decent and putting that much more on a stock cooler isn't wise.

A reason why you might not be hitting the same clocks is because you ran a few tests before you got to that speed, warming up the GPU core to accept that new clock.

I can hit 820 with default mem voltage if my vcore is up to 1.3V+ But then again it might be hurting my overall OC too on the core at that point.

Whats going on O_oa ive tryed everything, all my settings are set to max performance, im using 5.11 WHQL's, all outta ideas =( is it the 1.5GB of ram? should i bench it with 512? how much difference would that make in 3dmark05?

Is it possible to post your system specs in your sig at all? Make helping you out a little easier. Is your ram OC'ed? Are you using 3 sticks or 4 sticks of ram?

As for why his is faster no clue. I mean I got 200Mhz more on your CPU but similar clocks on the card and I get 8.6k.

I think i figured it out, the mobo was defaulting the ram to 6:5 divider, i set it 1:1 and got 8230. My CPU is socket 754 btw, DFI nforce 4 infinity mobo. I'm using 3 sticks of 512 each.

Does the mobo support dual channel? If so using 3 sticks is killing your preformance which would also hurt your score.

Gavinni : i got same problem, lower score, it was SP2 and hotfixes that decreased score, dont ask me why, not sure what problem could be with yours system since you only got SP1, but i reinstalled windows, didnt installed any SP and score you seen down.

38C Idle with 62C Max Load

In Quake 4 I got it up to 48C Max load

I only know that 740mhz on mems i can´t do with 2.05v
At that voltage and that speed, i get artefacts

I didn´t try 730mhz @ 1.90v but it probably works well
