Well, The CPU isn't dead! I went down the hall (undergrad @ OSU, ohio that is) and popped it in a friends computer. The 170 still works fine. On the other hand, I tried unplugging everything, resetting the cmos, and hittin the power button. Nada once I got it back together.

And BTW, At 2.9ghz my load temps were 42C. The first time I upped the voltage was 2.85ghz. If 3ghz isn't attainable then it is going to be damn close.

Were you able to prime it at 2.85?

2.85 was prime stable. 2.9 was also. I didn't do a lot of testing at 2.95 but I got it pretty stable and decided to shoot for 3.0 when the hit the fan.

Is anyone getting the 165 boxed version from Monarch? So did thery have to stock or not? I ordered and I am waiting since Monarch will charge 15% fee for their error.

My Opty 165 CCBWE 0534SPMW out of the box @ 2916ghz. Water Cool. Priming right now and still going Have to pump Vcore by .05 to prime stable.

These duallys are coming out even better than CABNE. The fact that they are dual cores and not single makes them even better!

It's a CCBWE 0541. BTW, why does CPUz say it's a Toledo core? I thought it was a Denmark core... ?

On air or water? Mine gets pretty hot when I double prime it at 2700 and scary hot at 2833. I'm on air though.

Bought an 170... what to expect from the boxed hsf? lot better than the 148 boxed hsf?

I think you toasted the board, as these dualcores stress this board to the max. Make sure to watch the PWMIC Temp, mine is at 54C right dual Prime95 Small FT's. My old Opteron and venice cores never got close to that temp. Check case flow when you get your new board.

I ordered an OEM and a retail 170 today from them for a client of mine, and hopefully if either one turn out to be 0530 then I'll keep it. I had them shipped 2nd day and they should arrive Tuesday.
