    Can't Count on Monarch! @ #%*&%

As usual with these guys, I ordered the 165 over the weekend because they listed it as "In Stock". This is the email response I got from them today......

Thank you for your recent order with Monarch Computer! You placed an order for an Opteron 165 processor. We received an overwhelming response to the processor, which quickly depleted our existing inventory. Unfortunately, we have just been informed by AMD directly that there was a manufacturing issue that occurred on this particular processor. AMD does not expect to have stock on this processor until the end of this month, and that may change depending on the manufacturing process. We do apologize immensely for this, and would like to offer you an AMD gift bag of items to go along with your processor once they are available for shipping again. If you have any questions, please do no hesitate to reply back to this email. Be sure to include your order number in any correspondence back. Please check our website for the most up to date ETA on the processor, and if there are any developments that will cause any more delays we will update you.

    Thank you,

    Monarch Computer Systems, Inc.

I think Monarch is a really good co to deal with, BUT they certainly DO need a live inventory system like Newegg/ChiefValue...

Well, at least they explained the situation to you and most likely (my assumption) not even charged your CC. So I don't think you should be that upset. It happens with newly released items and limited stock. Although, they could use some online inventory tracking for sure.
I've being buying hardware from them for some time now ( no-tax for CA ) and I really like that store.

Glad you have good luck with them. I've never purchased anything from them as this is the third attempt with exactly the same result. My own fault........ I won't try it again. I just thought "In Stock" meant "In Stock!"

They also have "150 DFI Experts coming in tomorrow".

I think it's their standard form response for any product they don't actually have but want to take peoples money for.

looks like mine shipped out today. Have a package coming in FedEx 2 day delivery, only 1 pounds. Can't be the motherboard, so it has to be the CPU.
Hopefully they didn't send me something else...or maybe sent me something better, we'll see on Thursday

An hour after my original post and an email to them telling them to kiss off, they called me and said they made a mistake and they had talked to AMD again to find out that the truck was on it's way. Amazing that the faulty "manufacturing issue" resolve itself in 60 minutes or less. Of course they suggested that I not cancel the order and of course I did cancel. The left hand doesn't seem to know what the right hand is doing over there.

No matter, I've already got a tracking # for a 170 from Mwave that I'll have tomorrow..... Such is life.

Monarch Blows. I placed my first order there yesterday and paid for three day shipping. It shipped today and they are telling me I won't get it till the 15th! WTF is that? I emailed and asked why and I got a one line response, "We do not deliver on saturday". At the very leats I should have been getting it Monday not tuesday!

Screw Monarch, I guess I'm sticking with newegg from now on.

    *End Rant
