My problem is the memory speed won´t go any higher.
As you can se I have to set the Vmem and Vvpu very high to get 700 on the mem.
But no problem with the vpu at all.

Nicely done OC. If he could pump up the ram to maybe 775 that should take him over 9k in 05. I know I hit 8,933 with 641.25/801 on my system.

Got some Q's if you could ask him...

1) What voltages is he running that at?
2) Is that stock cooler on there?
3) Can this speed be reached right after a cold boot? Theres a few of us that seem to have this issue of going right up to speed after a cold boot. I'm just curious if it happens to him also.
4) What drivers are ya using?

If it's still touchable and the temps are that high with that cooler you probably have bad contact.

EDIT: just looked at your clocks and your scores. What's your CPU? If it's clocked high something's amiss. And while it'd be tough to run a run at those clocks with bad contact, I still feel you might have SLIGHTLY poorer contact than you should.

Maybe hes using the drivers from the cd. The new drivers fix the temperature reporting issue. It lowers temp readings 20c. Need to make sure your running cat 5.10a.

yes yes i'm using the drivers from the cd. So the drivers from the cd is not updated? Btw sorry i nv state my card was from sapphire. But looking at the card carefully, i found out its a reference card. Sapphire only paste their alien sticker onto the hsf lol.

Nice results tckrto. Definatly try a whole bunch of benches, and also did you try doing a cold boot to those speeds? There was a few of us that had problems running high v and higher core unless the card was warmed up (meaning running a few benches previously to OCing to the speed you got). Impressive though I'm still playing with mine currently

I've gotten mixed results using both. Sometimes its good and others its not. My results seem to diminish with higher clocks of adding voltage to both of them. Vcore seems to stabilize the voltage with the memory more so then Vmem, but then again bumping up the voltage slightly on both seem to stabilize the clock you can achieve sometimes.

I've had no increase to .05v increase to .15v increase in tests. Sometimes it makes it stable sometimes it doesn't so its a settings I've been playing with when I try reaching a clock.

Thats so true. Sometimes its needed sometimes its not, very strange though. I even got a case at one voltage setting that increasing it caused artifacts, yet leaving at default passed tests. But now where I'm sitting I'm at a higher OC, and more volts on both Vmem, I/O and Vcore.

I updated my sig with it just this morning

1.275/1.95/1.95 for 625/750 stable as I call it.
4 3DMark 05 Runs
3 3DMark 03 Runs
80min shutdown period and then restarted to test and make sure 05 and 03 passed, which it did succefully. Then ran FEAR at 1920x1200 for 2 hours just doing some benches and let it sit on the menu since it taxed the GPU and I could go and sit on the couch for a few hours

Estimated temps for benchmarking 44C load, estimated game menu testing after 2 hours 48C load. I reseated my heatsink and that proved to be very helpful dropping temps 5C+.

Edit: thats a 5C+ drop at current settings/speed. Im sure its more so if I go back to the 585/750 clock that i know worked with 1.15/2.0/2.0 and where I remembed it was running near 54C in benchmarks and 56-58C ingames according to the heatsink thermal sensor and estimated temps I got.

Is the Zalman Fatality much better? Cause its about $7 more? And how much better is it compared to the stock cooler?

fatality is the same thing with a faster/louder fan.

Suppositly it has some special paint on it to disapate heat better. IMO I don't buy that. It does have a faster stock fan which I can't hear over the rest of the system, its red, and has a red light on the fan (don't know if the other one does or not). I just got this one because someone else did and I really liked the look of it, and at the time I already spend a decent amount of money so what was a few bucks difference anyways?

BTW I do have a 120mm fan blowing up at the card also from the bottom of my case. I'll have to take a picture of this when I get home. Thats a possibility why I'm getting lower temps.

No what i ment for cold boot was shutting the computer off for a couple hours then resetting the voltages/clocks and benching right away after the shutdown.

I received one of my x1800xl's today. Its a saphire oem from zzf. is this thing suppose to have Ruby on the heatsink/fan? Because mine does. It looks identical to a built by ATI card. It doesn't say Saphire anywhere on the card. I wonder if they messed up and sent me a built by ati instead.

sorry misinterpret your question. i haven't try it yet, as now i'm still on the testing stage. Basically my pc is on 24/7. After ocing x1800xl i just leave it as it is, until something happens then i will troubleshoot. So far so good for me
