The ovp is at 3.85 volt on my NF3.
And there is no need to clear cmos or whatever if you trigger it.
Just lower volt and reboot.

Glad you said that, gives me hope that a new board might be better. Is it an older board?Originally Posted by Ubermann

these for sale yet?
ANY NEWS IF THIS WILL WORK WITH THE ASUS AV8 Deluxe revision 2 to give a higher VDimm than 3.0 volts??? Hipro??? Anyone?![]()
check if a OCZ DDR booster will work. If so, then yes. If not, theres nothing anyone can do for youOriginally Posted by Breathless

I think this product is cancelled...
I have a computer.
Huh!!!?????
my mistake,
I just saw that Hipro has recently updated the other thread, I guess it's still coming... someday

I know this is going to make me look like a right retard, but ...
.. If you're mobo is providing a lower voltage than the Maxi .. Won't it damage the mobo's RAM Vregs as you are trying to push a higher voltage back through the mobo's regulators ?
Sorry I feel like a retard now, but yea if somebody could please explain how this doesn't damage the mobo. Cheers.
It has nothing to do with the mobo's Ram Vregs......It has it's own Vreg and feeds the rams by itshelf directly......On some mobos there are some designs that have an output mos-fet to ground......Those are the "incompatible" mobos........Maxi has a Very powerfull output mos-fet(130Watts) and pushes hard the mobos mos-fet(the one to ground - 40Watts) and it can burn it down......In this case, mobo STILL WORKS but ONLY through the Maximizer feeding the rams.......If you remove the maximizer from the mobo, it wont start(no vdimm).......If you plug the Maxi back in, mobo works like a charm again......These are the "incompatible" ones.......Originally Posted by yngndrw
If the mobo is "compatible" you pick the lowest vdimm through bios(or whatever you wish) and the Maxi feeds the rams without hurting the mobos vregs coz mos-fet and transistors are like diodes......Alows no backwords voltage![]()

But what about the compatable mobos ? Does it not cause damage as long as you don't provide a voltage which is over the max reverse bias breakdown voltage of the mosfets ?
I don't think I'm wording this right ..
If your mobo is set to 1.8V and the Maxi is set to 3.0V, you have 1.2V going across the mobo's vdimm regulation circuit backwards. Now if there was just MOSFETS acting like a buffer between whatever sets the mobo's vdimm (The BIOS) and the Maxi's vdimm then the -1.2V would not be larger than the MOSFET's reverse bias breakdown voltage, however there are other components components buffering the two, so I'm asking why does the Maxi not damage the BIOS's circuitery.
Sorry if that doesn't make sense.
Don't be confused......Originally Posted by yngndrw

The only components involved backwords are the output vdimm mos-fet and the feedback resistor for the vdimm IC....nothing else.....
Some mobos have built in overvoltage vdimm protection, so from a vdimm and up, the mobo shuts down.....![]()
Reversed bias breakdown voltage is when a mos-fet don't have VGate........In a "working" mos-fet, we have a VGate over 3.5-4Volts......if you can understand what I mean.....Originally Posted by yngndrw

Okay thank you for clearing that up. I probably look like a retard but at least I'm an educated retard now lol.Originally Posted by hipro5
Ah right, I never knew that the reverse bias of a MOSFET only applied when it doesn't have a VGate. We learn something new every day.Originally Posted by hipro5

Oh, and Revv23- your special engraved on is on the way![]()
Hello guys....
my Maximizer arrived this morning.
My testsystem
P4C800 Deluxe
Pentium M 740
2x512 BH5
Memtest stable without maxi:
2-2-2-5, 225 MHz, Turbo - PAT on @ 3,19V (VDimm Mod)
Memtest stable with maxi:
2-2-2-5, 231 MHz, Turbo - PAT on @ 3,2V
Just 6 MHz better.... not a good result i think????
I think my BH5 suck (!!!!).... raise Maxi up to 3,6V, but 235MHz isnīt possible![]()
Any tips to get in FSB higher?
Or are my BH5 really the problem?
THANKS loopy
