They use 50hz 230 over there. We use 60hz 240v in the States.

Its not quite the same.

well stuff rated for 115v 60hz works on 120v 50hz (australia, a few other places) so the 230/240 50/60 probably would too. The compressors would just operate at different rpms than on 50hz

I never said it didn't work. I was just stating that its not the same power.
