Just an impuse buy when i saw Charlie's EWiz thread. I was a little irritated by their non-live inventory that only updates at regular intervals throughout the day. (And as long as they show one in stock you can place hundreds in your cart.) I got an e-mail telling me it was out of stock but they were expecting another shipment on Thursday. They shipped regular UPS on Thursday on it arrived this morning. I live close to EWiz.

I was expecting a "bad one" since I figured all the CABNE from week 30 wouldn't be included in their restock. I didn't expect to get an older week and a stepping that has only been seen in a drcrawn thread featuring a 940 socket CPU. Strange.

I just slapped it in the same water cooled test rig I used for the last two Opterons. I'm using some Twinmos CH-UTT I had laying around. Please don't start hammering on me about the slow SuperPi time! I'm running the memory slow and loose right now because i'm just want to play with the CPU. I'll try to tweak it a little after I get a feeling of where the CPU will top out in the test rig. Maybe I'll start reading some SuperPi tip/tricks/tweaks guides when I find some time.

My gut tells me this stepping/week won't do as well as the first two CPUs I got. The slightly higher volts to get to 3ghz would seem to confirm that, but i think it'll still do better than the average San Diego.
