I'd opt for P4GD1 (better features, more knowledge here about tweaking and quirks of that board) but are you sure you can find a new board? How's the availability of both boards in Slovenia? I've came to conclusion that one can't find a new P4GD1 from Finland, UK or Germany. I have a P4GPL-X coming within two or so days. Reason: P4GD1's have been unavailable for two or so months.

This is only speculation without any knowledge but I have a feeling that both boards have probably been discontinued. Back in time when both were readily available, the price advantage of P4GPL-X against P4GD1 was negligible to say the least at least here in Finland. I believe that P4GPL-X's availability is just because its mediocre features versus P4GD1 have made it unpopular. Once the remaining boards are sold from wholesales I wouldn't be expecting more to come in.

    I have both mobo.

The P4GD1 is hard to get. I got the last one from a supplier in germany.

The Ram performance etc is mutch better om P4GD1. The P4GPL-X is a sort of "light" version, but easy to get, and not expensive.

Both is god for PCI-express and Dothan.

Got the P4GPL-X and X300 up and running. I clocked my CPU back to 2.4GHz@around 1.5V readings and I hope it works as fine as with previous board, too early to say anything yet. The BIOS seems to have all preferred adjustments except the multiplier setting.

I had slight problems deploying the board. I used a 3GHz Northwood P4 CPU as the CPU to flash the latest BIOS in. However, the machine refused to boot with my Twinmos CADT DDR400 CL2.5 dualkit in. I was able to boot and flash the BIOS with single Kingston DDR400 CL3 stick. With the latest 0401 my Dothan and also the Twinmos dualkit seem to work.

I'll post some additional information as soon as I have the time to tinker with my setup.

It is a simple , direct rail mod . It will provide 3.3v for your memory sticks , of course it depends on your PSU . If you have adjustable rails it is better . You can do much better than this adding a trimmer and an on/off switch . I suggest you to wait someone confirm the points on the picture for your board .

I tried to use Mushkin Redline 3500 in my dothan setup and I couldn't get it past 205MHz at 2225. Different motherboard though, maybe you have better luck with the 915 chipset.

OCZ booster works, but only on the P4GD1. (P4GPL-X have only 2 slot)

The 3.3 dim voltmod is also OK, and if you mod your PSU (or use OCZ PSU with ajustment) you can have 3.6 or more...

So is it worth buying P4GPL-X? What are the disadvantages of it other than 2 memory slots vs P4GD1? P4GD1 not available
