    ozzimark,

Good to see you got the CPU under water now,

Would I be correct in saying tht you arnt entirely happy with the clock speeds your chip is clocking to? You mention tht 1.55v applied to the CPU with water gives you arnd 2.8ghz stable and tht the chip is NOT scaling any higher with volts.

Your temps are very good while idling, but wht are they like under load? If you are seeing increase of over 20C under load (i.e. temps above 50C) then you definatley (if there is such a thing!!) have bad contact with the core and IHS.

I feel tht without taking the shim off you will never really know if this is the case, curiosity always gets the better of me, time will tell with yourself.

Something which is concerning me is the information coming out tht brainpower pcb's wont work with these CPU's.

I really hope this can be verified in the next few days, I personally dont have any other ram apart from tccd and cannot commit myself to purchasing a Opty 939 unless I know tht the CPU will work with the Ram I have. I hope to see some verification from peeps who eventually get hold of the CPU to see if this information is indeed true.

still 1.55v, with water, idle temps around 31-33c
SS shots are ok but with no benches really don't mean a lot. Let's see at least Spi1m with the ss. I'm not trying to be hard but we're on page 4 of this thread and there is still not much documented information in it.

because i have a thread in a few places, i'm going to simply update one. feel free to check up on it whenever you want.

I ordered a 146 and only have RAM on B6U808 so I'll be able to report, but it may be up to a week. In the meantime, more people need to take the chance (I need a backup processor ) like some of us already have, that's how the community finds info out.

And while the initial report was that it won't 'work' with TCCD, it now seems it works but won't run ideally and that the problem effects more than TCCD--everything on BrainPower 808.

That's a very preliminary report, take it with a grain of salt.

i just realized something.. geil pc4000 2.5-4-4-7. i'm pretty sure it's hynix D5 chips, but the heatspreaders block where the PB identification is.. but the component layout at the bottom looks very similar to the BP's i have seen, if not identical. if so, i am having no issues with BP.. just whether it's 80 or 815

Could you please elaborate? How many peeps reporting? What ram used? Did it worked ok with other ram when messing with BP one?

Team Japan is reporting that it didn't like TCCD but it liked old skool BH-5 then there was another report (seemingly random, but it makes plenty of sense) that B6U808 was the root problem.

ozzi's results are certainly lending themselves to the contrary, however. [Martha Stewart]It's a good thing[/MS]
