    Cool Opteron 144 Venus testing

Well, after a bit of effort, everything seems to be in place. wrote everything up here:
    http://eclipseoc.com/index.php?id=3,25,0,0,1,0
stock cooling gets me to about 2.7ghz before temps become a serious issue. i'll play with some water cooling tomorrow

    and as a cool note:
    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=39922

with 1.55v and stock cooling. temps were in the low 40's

Put some better cooling on! It looks like you're *completely* temperature limited if temps are past 60C! Removed IHS + watercooling and you're going to see stuff way past 3100...

Team Japan got 3239 with 10x and 3206 with 9x. Looks like the same as the good clocking 3000 and 3200 venices.

Looks like you got a solid chip Ozzi. Glad to see you're back in the game. Scaling about the same as my Venice, and my Venice has an X2 cooler...I'm interested to see how it scales with lower volts on water, to see if water would improve my clockspeeds on this Venice.

Man I never thought you would get that high on air. Too bad you didn't let me know about this back in July because I could have gotten you one sooner.

    aha,

I not only wake up to your results ozzimark but some from the Japanese overclockers; and the results

    ALL GOOD

Im going to pre-order mine straight away, apparently my friend who is getting these chips say tht his supplier said tht they could only source 25 of these from Signapore, others would be due a month later.

Tht means those 25 hes got coming to the store are going to go REAL fast!!!
Finally I will be back close to 3ghz (touch wood!!!!)

I am looking forward to your results on better cooling, water would be ace as thts how I will be cooling (trying to sort out my first chiller ) And maybe you will be removing the IHS, we know tht better temps are ALMOST always gained by doing this.

    Yipeeeeeeeeeee

    -EDIT-

WIll be interesting to see wht stepping I will be getting, the State side and Japanese Opteron 939 are of the same stepping
