Actually,I'm not bored with my board.....It's the ABIT IT7-Max2 V.1.......I'm a bit disappointed of my V.2 one witch has MAJOR problems with the 3:4 memory divider(it doesn't work over 220MHz or 440MHz DDR).....so I think I'll give GB a try to see how it does.....Shall I get an ASUS one???....Anyone in here with GB Mobos???....I want your opinion about ASUS GB or some other Mobos please......

I believe FUGGER has been enjoying his MSI GB mobo. See if you can get him to tell all.

hipro, what are you doing so special?? i notice that your bandwidth is only about 200 pts off of your estimated. i can never get mine close to estimated. i just benched my RDRAM rig, and i scored 3366/3377, and my estimated is 4352. see the big difference? how can i get mine closer to the estimated??

on your topic, i would say get it, as it should yeild better bandwidth, and if it doesnt, switch them back.

I`m having here a Aopen AX4Rplus and I can say it`s fast in all the benches, I think you have seen my Sisoft mem bench with almost 4400 score @23x171fsb. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&threadid=9351 I think when you are able to do the same fsb with a GB mobo like you did with the abit overhere(199fsb) you will have a real high score. I think something like 5000 sisoft mem score.
    I did with the EP 4PEA+ on a 23x171fsb a 3Dmark score 20846( catalist 2.5 and DX8.1) and with the AX4Rplus on 165fsb a 3Dmark score from 20545 but this was with DX9 and the catalist3.0(slower driver).
So I`m thinking when you are able to get a high fsb with the GB your scores will be real high.

I can tell you this right now, hipro5. You've got a good setup. If you ditch it for a Granite Bay board and it's minimal gains, you're going to be really pissed in two months when Canterwood/Springdale hits with a better board at half the cost...

I love GB over 845PE, nice improvement.

The GB Max, S2662, and 8INXP all have dead center cpu sockets to accept current aftermarket phase change systems.

Avoid pheonix bios GB boards, they have no everclocking features. 8INXP has best power and MSI has a PLL proggie.

    20k with poor card clocks.

Also my PCMark's have highest memory scores on page 1 other than the mysterious 4.4Ghz entry at the top.

I think the wait will be a bit longer for the springdale. I cannot order yet from Intel deverloper early access program. 2.8 ES w/ GB mobo is currently best choice. I am waiting on a few things to be available soon.

Don't get me wrong...I like my 8INXP too. It's just...damn, 250 bucks. That goes a long way toward anything else...mayhaps the new Radeon?

And i865 and i875 are due in April, if not sooner.

Fuzzy Logic 4 will let you adjust the FSB up to 180Mhz, PCI/AGP lockable. I dislike the voltage not being settable above 1.65v iirc, so I set vcore in bios and not touch in FL4.

Very easy to use, unlike the gigabyte easytune 4 that is practicly useless.

damnit FUGGER! i was very content with my epox 4pEA board. now you have piqued my interest. i was going to wait for the sis 655, but would much rather have intel chipset. and the vcore doesn't bother me, as i can vid pin it to what i want, and my chip doesn't do 180 fsb.

don't worry Zroc, i'ma get a canterwood too when it comes out.

thanks FUGGER, but couple more questions. you mention setting the vcore in the bios, but i thought it doesn't allow vcore settings in bios? at least the granite bay reviews i have seen have stated so. maybe a new bios? also, how high did you get yours? my cpu seems to max about 175.

deeznuts - if you check the T-Break review out youll see that in the course of their review MSI released a bios that allows Vcore adjustments up to 1.85v . Still no vdimm, but to be perfectly honest on a GB board there doesnt really seem much need given being stuck at 1:1.

Seeing as my second replcement 4PEA+ just died within 2 hours of being rebuilt the Asus non-deluze GB is looking very tempting. Exactly the same price as the 4PEA+ over here. Only thing stopping me is exactly how matched a pair of dimms you need. If its only matched size you need i'll be ok, but could be a very expensive mistake if I find you need EXACTLY the same sticks.

Im running a pair of mix matched sticks atm, even the 20K I ran Corsair XMS 3200C2 and a XMS 3500C2

Even at 1:1 its insane bandwidth at that FSB if its stable.

Hi there jd......I think that you're "playing" with 1:1 CPU:RAM and I "play" with 3:4.......That's why you have so "poor" Mem bandwidth.......You just can't do anything about that......only to fix your Cas timings to minimum latacies to gain some more if you can.......or get another ram witch can do higher......
