Cool Rivatuner 15.8 features for 7800GTX

    http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread....hreadid=152576

I'm glad to say Due to Digit-Life guys' help I've finally got 7800GTX sample yesterday. So I'll be able to add a lot of 7800GTX specific features, which couldn't be added blindly before. Currently I've spent only one everning examining the card, but I've already added the following to upcoming 15.8 version:

    1) Added "Core VID" graph for NV47 and VID interpretators specific to 7800GTX series.
    2) Added "Fan duty cycle" graph for ADT7473 (combined sensor/PWM controller used on 7800GTX series).
    3) Added low-level fan control tab for display adapters with ADT7473 PWM controller (i.e. 7800GTX). If you cannot wait for 15.8 launch, you can control 7800GTX fan speed manually right now using RivaTuner's undocumented command line interface:

    RivaTuner.exe /wi2,2e,38,ff /oi2,2e,5c,e0 /wi2,2e,30,ff

    This command do the following:
    1) /wi2,2e,38,ff - program max allowed duty cycle (70% by default on my Gainward).
    2) /oi2,2e,5c,e0 - swicth PWM controller from temperature-controlled to manual mode
    3) /wi2,2e,30,ff - set current duty cycle to 100%. Duty cycle to be set is defined with value marked with bold (0 - 0%, ff - 100%)

You can also easily modify the command line for setting any custom fan speed, e.g. 50%:

    RivaTuner.exe /wi2,2e,38,ff /oi2,2e,5c,e0 /wi2,2e,30,80

Have a fun and wait for 15.8 (expected in the end of October), there will be a lot of new 7800GTX specific features.

Now only if Unwider had TWO 7800GTX's and a freaking SLI board, we would be able to monitor both temps in SLI.

At least in 15.7, you can see GPU1 temps, in 15.6 you couldn't see either...

a graph? just for monitoring or what?

Wonder what the Guru RT forum looks like now...hmmm...

(Unwinder, how can I unlock my 7800GT?)

It's strange to think that it has taken Alex this long to get his hands on a 7800GTX to play with. I guess nVidia isn't all that keen on sending him one so he can destroy them and their evil locking pipeline plans...j/k.

15.8 should be sweet as usual though. How could NV users live without RT?

Does that get past the coldbug or am I misinterpreting it ?

Nope, it's about the PWM fan controlling circuit.
