Have got an Asrock 939DUAL board and a 3500+ Venice.
Cant get past 240FSB on any multiplier.
Can it be my Venice?
People are hitting 300+FSB with this board.

Yes, check the HTT divider, make sure its set to at least 4. If you are going to try above 350 set it to 3. Also depending on your ram, try using the 166 memory divider AND set your memory timings manually. If its set to auto it will probably try to tighten the timings too far since you are using the divider.

I take it since you made it to 240HTT you are using 4x :P
You might have to drop it to 3x to get closer to 250HTT.

Have trieed lowering anything.
Locked the HTT on 600mhz (from advise)
running my memory on 333mhz + low timmings (I know my ram do nicely on other board)
Locked AGP/PCI-E
Is it possible it could be my Venice or is that not the problem?
It does 240x11 (2640mhz) but will not do 250x10 or 9 or 8 -Not boot at all.

is that for sure?
Other are hitting 300mhz+ on the board.
Some say it could be my Venice. But you dont think so?

my Venice does the same it maxes out at 236 fsb on DFI SLI-D
it most be the memcontroller![]()
Wow those are the lowest topping out mem controllers I've ever seen if so

It could be my BH-5 that maxes out at 235 @ 3,1V (tried up to 3,4 but it didnt help) and stop voltagescalling but i dont think that thats the caseOriginally Posted by justwOo

no way, get yourself a decent s939 board! Asrock 939DUAL is an ULI CHIPSET... WHAT DO YOU WANT? OC with cheapest thing that exist?Originally Posted by mbm
check the 1T (cpc) setting also at 240/250, change htt and memdivider and try again, same for WOLF_OF_DK
@WOLF_OF_DK change your mem devider, put it on 1/2 meening ddr200 of ddr400, change htt to 3 and check again.... its your htt or mem that is doing this certainly not the AMD!!!!!!
duploxxx
I have allways got the best mobos. Have only heared crap of "ASS"Rock.
But I have read very possitive things about this new board with the ULI chipset, so I purchased one.
As saying earlier; people are hitting 300mhz+ with this board.
Im trying to figure out what is holding me back?
It is maybe some setting in the bios. But I sure can find it.
I have tried running my memory at DDR200 and DDR333 with loose timings.
Im not sure what you mean by HTT x3? -This is not an option on the Asrock 939DUAL.
But I think its this (Auto-600-800-1000mhz) -I have tried both 600 and 800mhz.
Really want to get it to work. Or else I might just return both mobo and cpu.

Can you increase chipset voltage?
Like duploxxx said maybe it won't do 1T at a certain speed, change it to 2T.
My DFI nF3 Ultra-D won't do 1T above 220 orso (didn't really check the exact limit, but it sure doesn't work @ 275).

I'm NOT watching pr0n, I'm studying anatomy
As I said -tried loose timimgs. And that includes 2T.
No there isnt any option to increase chipset voltage.
So again it may be a faulty board?
Or a bad Venice?

it cant be right that BH-5 completely stop voltagescalling @ 3,0V

But I cant even do 240 stable with memdivider.
Its isnt even stable at stock speed. It must be the mobo.

Xm I had a similar problem with my MSI K8N Neo2 and Venice 3200+...
I could not boot in Windows ifFSB > 240 MHz...
I disabled SATA1+SATA2 in BIOS and I use SATA3+SATA4 and all are OK cos SATA1+SATA2 areunlocked...
So try this hope to solve your problem..
theres your problem right there.. get a DFI/MSI and lock the IDE/Sata ports..Originally Posted by mbm

Modern Ram, makes an old overclocker miss BH-5 and the fun it was
Or I could get maybe a 3000+ or 3200+ Then I could see what this mobos is up for?
