Is it not possible that some components of the cancelled NV47 were carried over to the G70? I mean, they had some good engineering obviously, why start from scratch? I think the G70 IS totally based off the NV47 core that was never actually built. Why change what the chip is reported as in development tools? It's probably too much work for no real gain considering they were half way done when they stopped.

That makes logical sense, moreso in my opinion than than having unused technology lying around, the board of directors would fire them all for wasting bucks otherwise.
