    Corsair ValueSelect 2GB kit @ DDR520 test

    Hi guys...

Just wanted you to know about the new Corsair VS1GB400C3 modules.
Here they are, Samsung UCCC ICs, BrainPower D6800 PCB (only diffenrence from the B6U808 being the module's height):

They are rated CAS 3, with default SPD settings of CAS 3, RAS to CAS 3, RAS Precharge 3, Min RAS Active 8 (in short: 3-3-3-8). Here's for some short OC tests. All below screenies are done using the Abit AN8 and a voltage of 2.8V (adjusted DDR Ref. Voltage to -30mV) + crappy Venice 3200+ (sorry, had nothing else on hand at the time of testing).

    Memtest86+ #5 & #8 stable @ 260 MHz 3-4-3-7 1T (Read to Write Delay is 2) - notice the high bandwidth at only 2600 MHz (over 3500 MB/s):

    SPI 32M stable:

    A64Tweaker & SPD Screen:

    CPU-Z Validation: here.

Forgot to mention: Memtest was done with Winnie 3200+ and SPI test with a Venice 3200+ (board having problems with reporting CPU temp in Winchester's case - causes shutdown when I stress the CPU, so I had to use Venice for the SPI test)...

I realy think it's a screaming result for a value memory... especialy if it can compete (frequency wise) with G.Skill's and OCZ's 2GB kits.

Are you sure they're 1GB modules (VS1GB400C3... not VS1GBKIT400C3 aka 2x VS512MB400C3)? AFAIK the 1GB kits are performing like they should... like normal value memory I mean.

Unfortunately the ValueSelect series cannot be identified by anything else other than it's model #... unlike the XMS where you have a "choice" of revision and lot #.

    I see...

I'll go ask some info about the avalability of these special modules... maybe they changed production lines... new stock at retailers doesn't necessarily mean new stock at Corsair.

These I got, just arrived yesterday.

guess2098: I'll give it a try given that I'll make some more time.

The Brainpower PCB seems to be the common denominator in all sticks now. My UCCC on non BP PCB won't even get to 230. Nice budget sticks you have there.

Let us know where they are available. Would be really nice to get some value ram that uses UCCC + Brainpower PCB.

Just picked up a stick of this memory from my local supplier in Hull, he got a new batch of 10 last wednesday.
Running at 230mhz cas3 4-4-7 2T at the moment at 2.7v , lowering to 4-3-7 means a bsod on windows booting. Still tweaking at the moment.
My chips were marked: Samsung 525, K4H510838C-UCCC.
Seems ok, just have to push them a bit harder.

    What MB, CPU... etc?

So these new batches are Samsung UCCC? That's pretty nice.

Using asrock K8-nforce3 250 motherboard, Sempron 2600+ 64 E6, 1 gig Corsair samsung valueram, Leadtek 6800Le and 2 200gig maxtor sata drives. Cpu happily runs at 310mhz FSB with ht at 3x, using my 2x PQI trubo pc3200 2-2-2-5 Samsung Tccd I can run 310mhz 1:1 at 2.7v but 512mb is not enough ram for BF2, so I am running the corsair instead, will look to get a second stick soon

    I am now Superpi32m stable and 3dmark2001se stable at 244mhz 2.7v at cas3 4-4-8 1T.
I have the option of going to 2.8v with this mobo but i always got the best out of my Samsung TCCD at 2.7v, so I will keep pushing at this lower voltage for the time being.

    260mhz fsb validated link
Definately getting better, doesn't like tighter timings at this 2.7vdimm but is prime stable and superpi32m stable.

This is a sweet stick, now at 270mhz superpi stable. Going to do a bit of gaming to test it out.

270mhz (540mhz ddr) one hell of a sweet stick Of corsair value ram!!

280mhz seems to be the best this stick can do at 2.6v/2.7v. If i increase to 2.8v then my overclock drops to 255mhz!! So it looks as if this stick doesn't like too many volts!!.

Got a validation at 280, was running 285mhz but it was too flaky.

    280mhz validation

Pretty good for value ram. Looks as if Samsung have got another winner with these UCCC chips.
