    7800GTX & Zalman VF700

Hi all, after reading the Zalman forums i“ve tried to fit the Zalman VF700-CU & everything went great (well, almost great..)

    Here are some pics:

As you can see i“ve had to put some Zalman memory heatsinks because the Revoltek ones didn“t fit in some places.

After installing it the temps went from 53/76 to 45/63.

It“s early for the final results but for the moment this is the maximum stable clocks i“ve reached:

IDK if I have a buggered core or what, but I didn't gain 25MHz from going from stock cooling to watercooling. I gained 5MHz and my temp drop was much more than that (it was also cooler running to begin with). In fact, I gained more on my memory....not to hijack, but maybe you know of something I'm doing wrong?

    Talking

    Currently i“m using 2x256 KHX3500 old BH5 for testing

Redlines are in a "burning session"

Vapor: I supose gpu“s are like cpu“s, you never know how far will they go, independently of the cooling. I have this problem with my 3700, topped out at 2850 & water (even using ice) didn“t help me to reach much more stable.

By the way, yesterday i“ve tried again the same config for 05 (535/1340) & everything were full of artifacts. i“ve had to slowdown the core to 520 to work correctly.

However, pushing memos to 1400 didn“t gave me any problem.

Somedays i can push the core over 500 without problems & other days, using the autodetect option of coolbits it stops at default cores.

That happens as much with the stock cooler as with the Zalman.

    Any idea?

Also i“m looking for a moded bios that let me push the voltage to 1,5 without any hardmod. Stock voltage is 1,4v right?(maybe i“m wrong you will tell )
I“ve read that with some mode bios this is possible. Also i“ve tried to modify one with NiBiTor 2.4 but the limit were 1,4v.

    I would appreciate any comment/suggestion.
    Thanks guys

Here is my score. I think you should get more than 9100 in the score as your cpu was oc to 2.8ghz. My core was 515 and 1355 for the memory on stock cooler.

I get better temps than you get with the Zalman simply by replacing stock fan with an 80 mm one. Although, I imagine it's louder.

How about Asus AN8-SLI Premium? Would two vf700 fit on that board?

Two should easily fit on that board and get better temps than the DFI. My top card runs about 6 to 10c hotter than my lower card.

yeah i have 2 gtxs on the dfi board and i had to pull one out for the time being since it was running so hot .. like 60c idle .. bottom one was like 49-50c idle .. both loading high 70s low 80s .. so im either switching boards to the asus one since the spacing is so much better or getting some better cooling that vents the air out of the case
