I am looking to upgrade to 2Gb and thinking to get ballisitix 2Gb. Still trying to establishing what hit i'll get dropping to 3-3-3-8 from 2.5-3-3-7 at those speeds. Hence the questions.

Right on, I'm getting ready to head home and can run some tests on the 9 for you.
BTW, I was able to complete 10 passes of memtest overnight 270MHz 3-3-3-8-1t 2.7v. I'll up it tonight and see where I end up. I wanted to get a good baseline and try to tighten things up a bit. I've been able to memtest 2.5-2-2-6 up to ~240 2.7v so that got me started testing where I will get the best performance. I'll start up another thread once I get more testing done.

    Talking whoaa!

    These things are flying!

I was bored after work (who isn't...) so I sat down to play with 64-tweaker a bit.

    Check out the result

I used to run this board in 11x255 with UTT and BH-5, and the same 2.8Ghz was the goal. It seems that 254 with 2.5-3-2-6 1T is the roof, not even SuperPI 1M runs in 255 Mhz. But hey, under 30 sec in 1M and under 5.30 in 8M is not bad from a 2GB set! (I was this happy at x-mas -76, I was 6 yrs... )

    Oh, it's Corsair 2048 PC3200CL2 v1.2 - 4000+ - DFI nF4 Ultra-D, Corsair's get 3.0 volts juice.

EDIT: I ran the 32M also, no problems!

    Bandwidth's not too shabby:Sandra

I don't know Memtest86's bandwidth since I don't use it. I got bored to do a perfect test in let's say 265 and then have to drop and do the search again for max in windows. I do my max-search in windows, then copy settings to bios, boot, pray and do the stability tests. I'm no record hunter with these stick's, they were bought for 24/7 use. ( for ONCE, I got lucky )

These are just under 300€ in europe, mine were bought from germany for 285€, with mail & C.O.D to Finland it totaled to 310€.

    EDIT: typo's....

    EDIT: Everest 11x254 Read 7103 Latency 40.7

There's a Sandra unbuffered for the one who wanted to see it also:

Ok, finaly got AMD 64 rig up and runnig:

    Asus An8 SLi Premium
San Diego 3700 aircooled, Thermalright XP 120
    XFX 7800 GTX
    and 2 x 1 Crucial Ballistix Tracer

So far my memory are stable (Superpi 32 m) with HTT 260 running 3-3-3-8 @2.7v. But I`m not prime or Battlefield 2 stable at that speed.

Anyone else running Asus AN8 Sli Premium with the tracers?

What is safe voltage for this memory?

This is a bit better than what i get with my g.skill la at 2.5-3-3-7@278. If i can reach 278@3-3-3-8 with 2x1 Ballisitx it would be great, if not i'll have to be content with 250@3-3-3-8 and 1:1 memory ratio.

    Thanks!

@CP-Geek: The Corsair 1.2 really rock the place

far more interesting than the Ballistix to me. Does anyone know how many versions of 'em are on the market? Heard of V1.1, V1.2 and V2.1

I am running Asus AN8 Sli Premium with the tracers @250MHZ 3-3-3-8-1T 100% stable with Memtest, Prime and BF2.

I think i can go higher, but haven't had the time to test it yet.

Looks like Buffalo has changed from Micron 5B-D Chips for their DD4333-1G stick and now has Samsung TCCD. NewEgg has them for $99 a stick. Any chance the change will net better results than phoenix's 250, 3-3-3-8 1T @ 2.7V? Odd how the spec sheet refers to PC2700 and even the part number has 333 in it. That same spec sheet's timing characteristics has CAS 2, 2.5 and 3 listed. Who wants to be the first to test the the first TCCD 1 gig sticks (at least that I'm aware of) before all 9 sticks are snatched up at the Egg?

Yeah, I thought I read the same thing. Any way its kind of strange how no major memory maker who caters to the OC crowd made any TCCx 1 gig sticks. Maybe the Egg and/or Buffalo made a mistake. Maybe not. In any case, only 5 left now. Better hurry.

A friend ordered some a lil while ago, we'll know tuesday. I bet it's a misprint and it's actually UCCD.

just so you guys are aware, i did some searching and couldn't find anyone who mentioned it, but Crucial Value has switched from TSOP to FBGA. I emailed crucial a while back about it, but still have not received a reply (pr dept seems slow )

in the meantime i have done some research on my own.
here's a good overview of the changes. check out page6 for pictures.
    http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=936761

perplexed, i went to check out the differences between FBGA and TSOP, and reported them here:
    http://eclipseoc.com/index.php?id=0,8,0,0,1,0

if anyone can provide me some reasoning as to why they would change the value line to FBGA, i'll be glad to have a discussion on it.

enjoy, sorry if this is sorta o/t
Got a fan over those memory sticks? No? Well get to it before you kill them

Tuesday? Did your friend pop for premium shipping? Hopefully he can post some pics of the IC. If its not TCCD the I imagine the Egg will forego the 15% restocking fee and pick up the return shipping. UCCC? Bah. That will only get you last place on the page 1 list!

TCCD *cannot* be used in a 1GB stick. It is very likely UCCC.

The conroe uses 4mb's of L2, it is a SSE monster. 2 cores, extra 64 bit line. About it. Will be a great multi-tasker. But its really not that impressave.
