    SuperPI Windows VS Linux

Whats faster for SuperPI 1M Windows or Linux. I have a relic of a processor AMD Althon XP1800 (pally) and its about 7seconds quicker under Linux, compaired to windows. Is this the norm for higher end processors and computers.

    My PI time was 64secs

how do you bench super PI under linux?
I think you can't compare the windows based one to a linux based one.
The linux based one uses maybe SSE2 etc. and an other way for calculating PI.

    Or did you use Wine?

Its actually quite easy to run under linux and you dont need much knowledge to run it. I recon If I used gentoo with a good Kernel I might get even better.

Since you can't compare your scores anyway, what's the point, unless you need those digits of Pi of course...

I get about 10 seconds less using Linux SuperPi. In windows I get around 39 seconds for 1M, while in Linux I get 28 seconds.
