6800U gpu Volts HELP!!!!

I tried that mod with a pencil for a while and it worked out ok I suppose, I coverd it up with tape and it was fine. When I removed it ive been having problems since... I got all the pencil off 100% sure but it somtimes reads 3K instead of 8K!!! So pretty much my video card works but today I turned it on and corruption everywhere so I turned it off right away(has happend before). Is there a reason its doing that? Is it possible when I pulled the tape some of the contact that keeps that little thing on is gone? Would it be possible to just put a drop of solder on the left and right of it to make sure it has 100% contact? I dont really want to power up again even tho its reading 8.03K like it should...just too scary...reading 3K means its getting over 2V when it powers up...thats no good! lol. HELP PLZ
