Preview for P67 chipset - ASUS P8P67 PRO
After we see the ASUS P8P67 DELUXE in last few days, this time I want do another review for P67 chipset – ASUS P8P67 PRO.
With the ROG level for Gaming or Extreme Overclocking, next is the Sabertooth, then go to Deluxe > EVO > PRO > -E etc. So today let us the P8P67 PRO. Seem the box CPU haven’t coming up in Taiwan, so this time still using the same cpu – i5 2400 for testing.
Let us see the mobo first.
BOX – P8P67 PRO.

Back – with the full spec can let you reference, but want to know more, suggest you
go to their website.

Well, let us skip the accessories part. Go through the mobo part.
Yes, this is ASUS P8P67 PRO.

Let we take a close look for this mobo.
EPU on/off switch and Memory OK button on the top side. PRO version without the DEBUG segment, but still give you DRAM_LED to recognize which part having problem.

Front USB 3.0 connector, sure you can get it in PRO, and it still using NEC chipset.

With three color for SATA port. Deep blue and white both for SATA 6Gbp/s, but white color is native form P67. For the light blue as we know are SATA II.

Heatsink for the southbridge, seem like a wave.

Support 6 x USB 2.0 for front panel used.

TPU on/off switch and IEEE 1394.

P8P67 PRRO from ASUS.

Lanes – PRO give you three PCI-E 16X (run in 16X, 8X, 8X), two PCI-E 1X and two PCI lanes from ASMEDIA chipset.

Chipset –
Sound from Realtek ALC892
PCI chipset from ASMEDIA ASM1085
IEEE 1394 from VIA VT6308P
LAN from INTEL 82579

ICS part number – 0633158.

I/O –
PS/2 x 2
SPDIF x 2
Bluetooth x 1
Up to 8x USB 2.0 with 2x USB 3.0
2x eSata with one Power eSata(green) both from JM362
IEEE 1394 x 1

Single EPS 8PIN support, same with ROG, SABERTOOTH or DELUXE.

PWM side with heatsink. Can’t see clearly right, so…

Tear it off. 12 + 2 phase, enough for normal, even for overclocking in air situation.

Digi+, this IC design by ASUS, to control the phase.

ASUS P8P67 PRO without heatsink.

Let us see the mobo first, Data will be update soon
