I hope it all works out. Depending on if a tech feels like being a arse or not they may try and stiff you with a dead card not wanting to admit the solder flux residue happened at the factory. I can say with almost 100% certainty your issue is down to the vBIOS. You may even find you get the exact same card back, just with a new BIOS on it.
