    Salvaging evap guide

    Sdumper was asking couple days ago for a guide how to salvage evap. So here it is I decided to braze this evap once again, because I have leaks and as you probably now, bronze brazing rods hates any corrections. There is a small guide how to salvage evap.

    Here is the evap:



    At the beginning I make two cuts with my dremel cutting blade. First is along the pipe, second between the steps (that's stepper design):





    Then, use flat screwdriver to bend pipe as much as possible:



    After that, we can start heating. I used two torches (small propane-oxy and bigger one propane only). Now we have to unwrap pipe. It can be done with screwdriver or pliers, all methods are good At the end we must remove the pipe, capilary usually break just above the evap, so we have to drill hole with the same diameter. Photos with lamp and without.





    Still hot evap after removing all useless things





    And at the end. Now only cleaning left - I prefer citric acid. And finally some filing to remove all remains of bronze.
