^Modular cables do hurt.
The connector is like a small resistor. It just makes no sense, and no gain, to have everything modular - especially for the high current leads such as EPS12V and PCIe plugs. Antec got it about right on Signature line which have fixed ATX24, EPS12V (4+8pin) and 2× PCIe 8pin. Rest (4pin molex, SATA) are modular.
