FWIW early tests show nehalem @2.93 to consume 7 watts less than the Q9770 when idling. Which might make them equal "clock for clock". (isn't the q9770 platform extremely power hungry because of the high fsb) It's probably difficult to judge from this little information, but the power saving features should be improved.
