EVGA Hydro 16 Copper Waterblock Package
What Comes In The Box
Hello Everyone. I know this may be a bit redundant, but I could not find everything I am about to post in one spot. The point of this post is to give full pics of the what comes in the mail when you order a Hydro 16 Waterblock from EVGA.
This is not a thread in which I will post my OC attempts on my SLI 280s. This is for those folks considering the Hydros v. waiting for Eddy and EK to get theirs with backplate out to market.
Here is the box that comes in a bigger box. BTW, these things are HEAVY!! (shown next to floppy drive for size)
Now...On to the Good Stuff!!!!
These next few are taken in low light. The previous shots show the blocks a bit shinier than they really are due to the flash. I am going to be anal and clean the tarnish off a bit prior to installation. I truly doubt it has any effect on temps, but the computer gods must be appeased and tended well, or they will send bad things your way.
Here is the backplate...
Here are some shots of the 1/2" fittings.
Here are the scanned images of the Packing List and also the Installation Manual. I really have to give hats off to EVGA on this. These are the highest quality docs I have seen included with WC equipment. Beautifully printed on good stock. Clear photos. Clear and common sense instructions. (Just to note, I did not find any Copyright mark on these manuals or materials, nor any suggestion that they could not be reproduced. Obviously they are EVGA material, but apologies to them if I have unknowingly infringed on anything.)
The Installation Manual:
Well, that is it. On a humorous note, I did leave out one little component that EVGA did include...the latex gloves! I did not find them until after I shot the pics. Lol...maybe I will just save those until after I install the waterblock. After seeing my credit card bill, I feel like I need to turn my head and cough.
A couple of thoughts on this. These weigh a LOT. Everything I see about it speaks to excellent quality and workmanship. (Not just being a fanboi. I have EK's on my 8800 GTXs and know how well made those are.) I also must applaud them on including Ceramique with the blocks. Hopefully other manufacturers will follow suit and include quality TIM with their products.
One other thing I wanted to mention. On page 3 step 8 of the manual, it shows the need to put a washer on each of the 9 posts of the waterblock. It may help if you stick a toothpick in each hole temporarily while you position the card on the block, to keep the washers from falling off.
Hope this helps if anyone is considering these cards.![]()
