If nVidia could improve G92b shader performance by 50% just like GTX280, a 9900GX2 would be something interesting, but would certainly touch the fields of GTX280.

The entire 50% number was ambiguous anyways - you could read it as shaders perform 50% better or overall performance is 50% better than the previous generation cards as a whole.

And anyways, G92 cards have really high shader clocks already so that'll make up for 50% shader improvement anyways - in fact, nearly 40-50% faster on G92 than the 1296 stock clock
