Question about pump placement in a different direction

Hey guys! I am almost done with my water cooling setup (finally) Well i have a question that i am not sure of, and that is would it be fine to mount the pump a different way rather than having it directly on the actual foot part? I thought that my Swiftech MCP655-B pump had the inlet at the top and the outlet on the side. So i made an a L bracket, and tilted the pump in a different angle to have the inlet facing upwards towards the reservoir, and the outlet at the radiator. would this be somewhat of a performance hit at all?
