New OCZ Alpha Titanium VX combined with DFI Blood Iron

Yesterday I simply couldn't fall asleep so I decided to overclock some memory. As I was really suprised that DFI published at last new beta BIOS (12.05) which sharped compability with Micron D9 stuff

Firstly, I have started overclocking with a new beautiful, glossing OCZ Alpha Titanium VX PC8000 4-4-4-15 by default

New revision uses black eight layer PCB (not BrainPower) and is more resistant from voltage damage

Although, new D9 GMH are created only for CL5, especially OCZ stuff, this set clocks quiet well with CL4

So let's start this play with CL4

    560 MHz 4-4-4-12 @ 2.35v

    575 MHz 4-4-4-12 @ 2.47v

    600 MHz 4-4-4-12 @ 2.65v

These OCZ sticks are surely the best set of OCZ memory which I've ever had.

    Orthos

My favourite memory "burning" application  Stress Prime 2004 "Orthos" (priority set to "9").

    616 MHz 5-5-5-15 @ 2.14v I think, it's quiete cute

640 MHz 5-5-5-15 @ 2.27v I like this score. I goaled to achieve "650" MHz stable but... ehh everywhere are obstacles This is (640 MHz for memory) absolute MAX stable for my Blood Iron.

    To be continued... CL5 again

    675 MHz 5-5-5-15 @ 2.62v (so high voltage don't needed indeed)

    One step further... 680 MHz 5-5-5-5-15 @ 2.62v

    I was convinced that it's absolute MAX - 685 5-5-5-15

    691 5-5-5-15 @ 2.69v stress

This result is really nice. I like it entirely My brave-hearted Blood Iron achieved it's max once more  (It shall also do it with ~ 2.6 -2.64v max)

Max screen and that's all for dual channel with this mobo. Now I am waiting for selected board - LP P35 UT, which is much better than budget Blood Iron But, summing up, new bios for Blood Iron have done some good work - better compability, better OC and less troubles than ago

    The end...

    (really?)

And the last result for today - with G.skill HZ PC6400 2x1 GB (new week, green pcb ). With old bios on DFI they were capable of doing only ~ 565 MHz, regardless for latences

    630 MHz 4-4-4-5 + strict alphas.

    1) I am waiting for better board and I am going to achieve MORE... and I am also waiting for OCZ Reapers PC9200 2x1 GB
    2) For HZ's, this result isn't max because with CL5 it overclocks also to only 630 MHz
    3) DFI is great motherboard, but especially hard to stabilize
    4) I think it's quiet good set of OCZ D9 stuff
