After reading your experiences with this board (thanks for sharing) I bit the bullet and put together the combo. in the signature.

It looked as though everything would be still-born at the start when it wouldn't post, but eventually got things moving on a stick of cheap ValueRAM. Still running the ValueRAM and waiting for the Team sticks to come back from RMA - perhaps they need more voltage to work. So much for the general idea that DFI boards spit on cheap RAM!!

Before winding things up, I brought the NB temperatures down by fitting the HR-05 (now running up to about 28-30 degrees under load).

Tonight I acheived my first overclock. I used Clock Gen to take the CPU frequency up to 3.05 GHz while running 2 instances of SuperPrime for 30 min. Only thing stopping me for now is caution! And, yes, I need to start playing in the BIOS to see if it will post at that frequency. Small steps, as I'm gaining confidence as I go.

Like |3ourne I've noticed core0 running about 6-7 degrees hotter than core1 (based on Core Temp 0.95 readings).

Even for a noob, this board is working out very nicely, thank you!
