    There you have your own answer of why you are having problems: VISTA!!

    I have dual boot XP and VIsta. And I do have that powering off click on my second drive (backup). Vista does that to "save energy" and that's perfectly normal, nothing to be afraid. Once you click back on a folder of that drive it will power on again.

    As for the wake-up function problem with standby, wonder no more, Vista IS buggy as hell. And I bet the OS has driver compatibility problems... I have had the same behavior you're decribing with Vista... with XP everything is mint...

    Do yourself a favor and unistall that POS, or at least make yourself a dual boot, XP and VIsta, and use Windows XP to do serious computing and gaming. You can leave Vista just for the bling and to impress girls

    IMHO Vista = Windows ME 2

    It will be a transition OS and then everybody will jump on the WIndows 7 bandwagon. I can tell you no corporation will use Vista AFAIK.
