I did slightly bore out the outlet barb.
My pressure only max head testing and experimenting tells me the smaller inlet provided slightly better maximum head, not sure on max flow rate.
I would recommend leaving the inlet alone and only porting the outlet.
My next round of experiementing with the D5 will be a custom top. I'm in the process of choosing tools to start some custom waterblock and pump top experiments, and first order will be a small milling machine.
If I go ahead with the rotarty table addition I should have what I need to make a nice custom top for the D5.
Not sure what if any more I'll squeeze out of the D5, but my goal is to push the curve upward as well for more pressure. It's already apparent to me with the port mod that some untapped efficiencies exist, but I'm uncertain what if any pressure improvements I can make. It seems to me many of the tolerances are a bit more sloppy than they could be so I'm crossing my fingers.![]()
